The Attitude - Before Making Your Purchase

So I have made my second purchase from The Attitude Seedbank. As I write this review, I want to note that it is 11:58 PM Central Time on 12/02/2010 and I am still waiting on an order I placed on 11/18/2010.

A few days after placing my order, I logged onto my Attitude account and checked on the status of my order. To my surprise, my order had not even been processed yet. I diligently wrote an email to their customer service contact and promptly received a response. The correspondence goes as follows:

Subject: Online Form: My Order

Hello,

I just checked the status of my most recent purchase only to find out that my package has just now shipped. If this is correct, I made the payment for my recent purchase four days ago, three if you do not count Sunday as a business day. Is there any reason that it took 3 days to ship my package to me?

I only ask because I have made previous orders from The Attitude and they took about two weeks to arrive. I would like to make future purchases, and would recommend your seedbank to others if I could be assured that it would not take an unnecessary amount of time to process an order. I would assume from a best business practice perspective, if you pay for something, you expect to receive it in a timely manner. If this is not the case, you may want to make a statement on your site that explains that it may take up to three days to process an order. At least that way, people might be more aware of their options.

I'll be publishing the handling of this feedback in an online forum to help promote awareness of your customer service standards. I hope it is addressed accordingly.

***FROM THE ATTITUDE***

*** THEN THIS WAS SENT A FEW MINUTES LATER ***

Hi there

Sorry my email sent to quickly, I also want to add that we appreciate that our customers are excited to receive their order as quickly as possible ew try to ship within 24 hours but this is not always possible, we also order our souvenir stock, daily from the breeders to ensure freshness which has to be taken into account allowing for the 3 business days.

As mentioned in y last e-mail this is stated in the confirmation email sent to our customers.

Many Thanks

Rachel

The Attitude

Ok, so maybe I jumped the gun a little. 2 business days to process an order. Not too bad? I guess so. Then I checked the confirmation email they sent me:

Dear ******,

The status of your order id: 237316-101118 has been changed to Dispatched

This email was automaticaly sent from http://www.cannabis-seeds-bank.co.uk
I guess maybe their email cut off in transit? Anyway, I looked up the shipping policy and it does say it takes up to 3 days to process an order. That's a long time if you ask me. If you shop on Ebay and have to wait 3 days to get your item processed, you're more than likely not going to give the seller a perfect rating. I know I wouldn't. I have always heard good things about The Attitude. My first order from them went well; even though the freebies that were thrown in weren't viable.

FINAL POINTS

PRICING
The prices are competitive and they offer a %10 discount to RIU members. Altogether I spent about $250 on two separate orders.

CUSTOMER SERVICE
Their customer service personnel are blunt and direct, but very much prompt. I received two emails immediately, the second seeming a little more compassionate than the first.

DELIVERY
I'll be honest, I don't know much about international shipping. I will say, however, that another member who ordered on the exact same day as I received their shipment today. After checking the tracking info, USPS has yet to even receive my package to deliver it here domestically.
OVERALL
I'm sure there are some who swear by The Attitude and wouldn't take their money anywhere else. I will agree that their selection is top-notch, and their freebies are good enough to incite the most loyal of customers. However, I believe there is still a lot of room for improvement. I for one, will be shopping around and checking out other seedbanks. I will admit though, I'll be comparing any other company I deal with to The Attitude.

Are you serious? You placed your order late on a Thurday which means they actually didn't even receive it til Friday and you are wrtiting emails at 3:00am the following Monday asking why your order shipped yet? Man I doubt they work on Saturdays and the post office is closed Sunday, so basically, you are complaining your order didn't ship the same day. As for 2 weeks passing and not receiving your package, I will admit that is longer than I ever waited, but I'm fairly certain your order will be there eventually. I know you are probably eager to get started, but growing takes a lot of patience. If you can't even wait a week or two for the beans to arrive, this might not be the best hobby for you.

That's interesting they say they order their stock from breeders daily. Didn't think they did it like that.

Its funny that I was expecting responses like this.

This isn't the first time I ordered from Attitude. To be honest, the first order took about 21 days on the dot. I was indeed set back that it took over 24 hours to process a shipment. As I said in my post above, even Ebay companies process their orders in a day. I understand they get a high volume of orders, but even larger companies can ship their product in 24 hours. Most online retailers provide their shipping information as you process your order. Attitude states they provide them when they send you a confirmation... This, in fact, did not happen. I had to search for them on their site.

This forum is for Seedbank Reviews. That is what I provided, a review. If you stoners took the time and read the whole thing, you would see in my summary that I am in no way completely badmouthing Attitude. In fact, I list the pros and cons. I don't remember seeing a rules post in this section of the boards that said you can only post positives about vendors...

I am still waiting on an order I placed on 11/18/2010.
You do realize that Attitude says that 99% of international order will arrive in 7 to 10 WORK days but it can take up to 21 WORK days.

What is key there is WORK days. Unless you were lucky and your order shipped on the 18th, which it likely didn't, you had at least a day's wait and then the next day a weekend hit and Royal Mail takes a bit of a break on weekends. If you are in the U.S. there was not only another weekend but also a holiday, Thanksgiving, and U.S. Customs and the postal service tend to take breaks on holidays and on at least one of the two weekend days. When they take those days off it not only adds a day but when it comes to Customs it makes things back up so that's like adding at least another day.

Something else to consider is while at my local post office the other day the guy helping me with a package I was sending was telling me how the Christmas rush began early this year and is already in full swing and the postal service is already swamped.

You placed your order at what is the busiest time of the year for the USPS, that is IF you are in the U.S., which I am not asking, but if so you do have to factor that into shipping time.

I am stunned by how many people so often seem to soil themselves because beans they ordered from the UK are not at their door as fast as a birthday card from grandma who lives in an old folks home only three miles away.

Depending when an order is placed it will be processed in the order in which it came in. It might take 12 or 24 hours to be picked, packaged and shipped, and longer if the order was placed online when the following day Attitude, or whatever seedbank someone uses, would be closed. Then the order would have at least one more day to wait before the process of picking orders in the order they came in at began. Then you have Royal Mail that has to process it and then turn it over to the overseas mail department and from there is has to cross a rather large body of water to then sit and wait to be processed by a Customs department, and they don't feed government employees speed ... if anything they slip downers into their coffee, and then there is your own countries mail service to take possession of the item and begin what at best can only be called indirect shipment, which is not exactly an air flight using a helicopter direct to your home.

I have been lucky with my orders from Attitude. I have never had one that took longer than 10 WORK days, but then I never placed an order just before a holiday that is pretty much right at the beginning of the very busiest shipping time of the entire year where the combination of timing and how busy postal services and Customs always are that all packages of all types from all locations going to all locations arrive slower than during other times of the year.

I'm not sure if you're saying ordering a week prior to a holiday rationalizes the shipping time on a package or not. Because if that's the case, Cyber Monday must be a bitch of a holiday and I shouldn't expect to see any of the items I orderd for 3 weeks... let alone processed for at least 3 days. Oh what's that? All of the items I purchased on that Monday were processed in 24 hours...

Again, I just offered that maybe Attitude should explain during their checkout that it may take 3 days to even ship out your order. That might influence competition a bit. Consumer reports just did a study showing that consumers were willing to pay 5-10% more for items that were in closer proximity and available faster. (ie. using "buy it now" on ebay vs. waiting for an auction to end)

What I was saying was did you count the actual WORK DAYS when shipping, of all sorts by all involved, would occur and then factor in the holiday rush at all or did you just start counting on the 18th and expect 7 to 10 DAYS from then?

I don't know what "Monday" order you were talking about. Unless I missed an order you mentioned just one. The one on 11/18, which would have been on a Thursday, so I am unsure about what you were talking about when you said; "All of the items I purchased on that Monday were processed in 24 hours."

People like you stun and amaze me. You never stop to consider that some days are slow and things can be handled swiftly and other days are very busy and you cannot do everything in one single day, possibly not in several days. People like you seem to fail to consider how many online orders might be placed say near the end of the day on Sat, overnight on Sat.-Sun., during Sun., and then overnight Sun.-Mon. that would all be waiting to be processed before the first order that arrived during business hours on Mon. would even arrive.

People like you expect that there will be someone at Attitude 24 hours a day just waiting for your order to arrive so they can instantly pick it, package it and rush it to the nearest postal office for fast shipment.

Have you ever worked for any place that shipped things on a daily basis, a place that did it's own UPS and FedEX and USPS, or whatever, weighing etc. and each shipping service would come once a day and pick up everything that was ready to be shipped by then and anything else not ready to be sent out has to wait until the following day?

It is not like any such business has someone sitting there just waiting for your order to arrive so they can rush it through and get it shipped instantly. There might be five orders ahead of yours and there might be hundreds or more orders ahead of yours. Depending on time of day and what day it is when an order arrives, and the possibility that there may be very many orders already there ahead of the latest one to be processed, it doesn't take an Einstein to be able to figure out that it could take three days or more for shipment to occur.

Just stop and think of a totally common scenario for any business. An order arrives late on a Friday, too late to process it. On Sat. an employee has the day off or one or two have the flu, orders back up, the business is closed on Sun. Come Monday, if everyone is back to work, they try to play catchup but due to the backup it takes an additional day for some orders to go out. Right there you have three days before an order might be shipped, but to someone like you it would be four days because the order was placed on Friday, even though it was too late in the day to do anything about it.

I get really fed up with people who know nothing about business and the real world and who do not pay enough attention to details to be able to understand things as they are but then bitch, piss and moan like a little girl with a skinned knee when things do not go precisely how they imagine they should go.

You placed an order at the start of the busiest time of the entire year for shipping, plus there have been two weekends since your order was placed, meaning fewer WORK days, and if you are in the U.S. you have to factor in Thanksgiving for another non-WORK day .... and you are upset that your order has not arrived yet. You also seem to refuse to accept that while Attitude does say that 99% of international orders will arrive in 7 to 10 WORK days it can take up to 21 WORK days. 7 to 10 WORK days is not guaranteed, it clearly states it can take up to 21 WORK days for international delivery.

Why not let this thread rest a while and if after the 22nd WORK day since your order was placed has passed and you have not yet received your package then start it up again. Until that day would arrive you cannot rightfully and honestly consider your package to be late.

All it is so far is later than your unrealistic wishes would have had it delivered to you, that's all.

I'm not racists.. not one bit. But when it comes to Mexicans.. I just don't care for them at all.

Anyhow, you need to take 'GeeTee's advice and just chill out man. If you didn't make any mistakes on your contact information when you made your order.. your seeds will get to you. However, there are times where 'Customs' end up confiscating your seeds.. but if that happens to you (its very rare) but if it does happen to you, they'll send you a notice in the mail.. explaining to you that your package and its contents were confiscated by 'Customs'.

You won't get into trouble if they do happen to intercept your order (package)... worst case scenerio when this happens.. is 'Customs' ends up keeping your package and destroying it (throwing it away). So worst case scenerio, you'd be out the money you spent on the seeds that you ordered.

Anyhow, once again... this RARELY ever happens. I've made over 10 orders from Nirvana Seed company.. and probably close to the same amount of orders with Attitude Seed company.. and I've NEVER had my package intercepted (confiscated) by 'Customs'. But again, it can.. and DOES happen from time to time.

But just be patient dude.. you'll get your package.

peace.

Actually in my last post, that's exactly what I did. I compared ordering on the 18th of Nov. to ordering something on Cyber Monday. On Cyber Monday (online shopping's busiest day of the year) I ordered about $400 worth of gifts. All of these gifts were shipped in 1 business day. Over half of the items I purchased were made from purely online vendors. Last I checked that's exactly what The Attitude is... an online vendor. What was my point? If on the busiest ONLINE shopping day of the year a company can process my order in 24 hours, then yes, there's no reason to expect the same from another vendor on a NORMAL non-holiday business day.

People like you expect that there will be someone at Attitude 24 hours a day just waiting for your order to arrive so they can instantly pick it, package it and rush it to the nearest postal office for fast shipment.
Yes, I would expect an online company that ships things as a business would be able to process an order in a timely manner. If they accept payment 24/7, why wouldn't they process orders in the exact same time frame? That's like paying for a hamburger today, and not receiving it till tomorrow and being ok with it. Obviously postal services aren't a 24/7 service, but that doesn't mean a company that ships items as a business should be mediocre.

No, but I would imagine that if the workload of a given day was too great, it might be time to hire more people so that my customers don't have to wait an unnecessary amount of time to receive an item they've already paid for. Again, imagine you go out to a bar, and the bartender has no sense of urgency to pour you a drink. He just works at his own pace, and pays no attention to how many customers are waiting for service. At some point, people are going to get impatient and go somewhere else. Now imagine a bartender that is fast, efficient, and even tells you jokes while he's working. You're going to be impressed, and probably stay awhile...

Again, as a business manager, I totally understand the importance of good, speedy service. I also understand that shit happens. But if you want to say that "they got too busy" or "there was a lot to do that day" and my order just got hung up, then maybe my REVIEW has more weight than you understand. If this was the case, maybe Attitude needs to do some hiring so that they can offer BETTER service to their customers. Again, im comparing them to OTHER online businesses that can ship an order in a timely manner. If they can, why can't Attitude?

These points just sound like excuses. Really? A perfect storm scenario? You go to order a pizza and it takes 5 hours. You call the store and say, "where the fuck is my pizza?" The guy on the phone says, "sorry, our employees are sick and we can't bring you your pizza tonight." According to your logic above, you just say "ok" and decide to wait until tomorrow to get your pizza. Instead, a smart consumer might say, "dude, if you knew all your employees were sick, and couldn't get me the pizza in a good amount of time; why did you sell me the pizza in the first place?" OR, someone writes a review on the pizza place that says they didn't do as good of a job delivering pizzas as some chinese delivery places do. The pizza place then decides they're going to try to be better at delivering pizzas so that they get more repeat business.

...Or, even better for us consumers, they decide to provide better delivery so that they become the BEST pizza delivery... and all because someone took the time to REVIEW their pizza shop.bongsmilie

I get really fed up with people who know nothing about business and the real world ...
I currently manage a restaurant and brewery. I work too much, but my job rocks. I've been doing it for 8 years now. Before I worked in retail for 2 (as a manager). I know customer service.

Also, I don't believe I ever said my package was late... nor did I assume that Attitude wasn't going to send my package. I simply took my purchasing experience and wrote a REVIEW of it. Being someone that purchases a LOT of things online, maybe I DO have high expectations of what internet companies should provide. But if you read my entire post, you'll see that I am willing to meet them halfway in any shortcomings I believe they possess.

and who do not pay enough attention to details to be able to understand things as they are but then bitch, piss and moan like a little girl with a skinned knee when things do not go precisely how they imagine they should go.
The irony of this statement is that you didn't pay attention to the original post. If you had, you'd see I mentioned the fact that it DID take 2 business days to process my order. And you didn't see that the entire post is a REVIEW of the site. This thread wasn't meant to talk trash or smear their name. Let me know when you actually take time to read my entire post and "pay attention to details to be able to understand things as they are". :dunce:
Right now its just "bitch, piss and moan like a little girl with a skinned knee when things do not go precisely how they imagine they should go". In other words, don't be a hypocrite. :finger:

Also, I don't believe I ever said my package was late... nor did I assume that Attitude wasn't going to send my package. I simply took my purchasing experience and wrote a REVIEW of it. Being someone that purchases a LOT of things online, maybe I DO have high expectations of what internet companies should provide. But if you read my entire post, you'll see that I am willing to meet them halfway in any shortcomings I believe they possess.

:finger:

Again, I didn't once complain that the package was late. I simply was amazed that it took over 24 hours to process an order, when other online companies can do it without problems... during busier times of the year.

I honestly have no idea what the hell you're saying here. It's like a run-on sentence that runs in absolutely no direction.

... :wall:... Again, not the first time I've ordered seeds... And again, not worried about NOT receiving my purchase. Just doing a REVIEW (exactly what this section of the forums is meant for, assclown)

You just wrote a "review," a negative "review" based on inaccurate comparisons used to validate your "review," but what the heck ... have it your way if you must... just tell everyone that Attitude is unprofessional and sucks because it failed to meet your unrealistic expectations.

I'm sure that your negative "review" posted here on RIU will shake things up at Attitude so much that it will get the owners to make sure it meets your exacting standards.

Ok .. here is my Attitude review.

I could not guess how many orders I have placed with Attitude, but there have been a good number of them. I have never had one have any delay in it being shipped. Not so much of one of my international orders from Attitude has arrived at my house later than the normal 7 to 10 WORK days Attitude says most international orders arrive in. Every order was packaged stealthy enough to slip through Customs. I have never been sent an incorrect order. I have never been sent only a partial order. I have never received a single cracked bean, damaged in shipment or otherwise.

Now maybe the owners of Attitude will be able to relax a bit because my multiple orders have all been perfect in every way so that should more than counter your negative "review" for the single Attitude order you are PMS'ing about.

Tweexican... sounds too close to 'Mexican'. I don't like Mexicans... :|

But just be patient dude.. you'll get your package.

peace.

how can you say youre not racist, then say BUT when it comes to mexicans i just dont care for them atall?that contradicts the first part of your statement.

Liking or not liking someone or even an entire race or caring for or not caring for someone or an entire race is not automatically a case of racism. Racism means a prejudice that members of one race are intrinsically superior to members of other races.

No one in this thread said they were, or felt, superior to Mexicans. They only said they do not care for Mexicans and that in and of itself not racism, it does not fit the definition of racism.

People need to back off the politically correct crap a bit and stop reading more into what people say than they actually say.

Brick Top, you're being a condescending baby. I offered some fair judgments on a vendor that is anything but perfect. Just because you've had no problems, doesn't mean it doesn't happen. I in NO way said that Attitude was unprofessional. I pretty much just said, 'there's room for improvement." Christ man, what the hell else are reviews good for if only to suck a vendor's dick?

Man you're intellect astounds me. You're wrong. Well, just mostly. Your definition of racism can be a FORM of racism. But it doesn't cover the entire spectrum. Racism is pretty much prejudice based on race. If you judge someone based on their race, you're being racist. If someone calls out the fact that you're not of their "race" and then writes you off... you're being racist. To pre-judge based on race.

You sir, need to get yourself schooled before you start throwing around political bullshit. You're stinking up the place with it.

I would be willing to tell you what you are but I won't since it would likely get me suspended or banned for insulting a member.

Was every online order placed that you used for a comparison an international order? Is each business you ordered from equally staffed, or at least equally staffed in relation to the amount of business they do? Does each business receive the same number of orders daily, in particular international ones? In each business do they run the same system on who does what when an order comes in online and does that include international orders? Does it take the exact same time for each business to pick an order, to physically go and get the item or items ordered from wherever they are located in the business. Does it take the exact same time for each business to package an order, international or otherwise? Do all the businesses ship the same way using the same shippers and ship an equal number of times per day?

If not your comparison was utterly worthless and an absurd way for you to attempt to validate your claims. If all things are not equal a valid comparison does not exist. It is irrational to use something for an example when it is so utterly different that it in no way can rightfully be used as an example of how something else should be. Just all being online purchases does not make everything else the same.

That is the politically correct definition, the definition that people like you like over the real definition, but it is not the actual definition. That is why I said people need to back off the PC crap a bit and stop reading more into what people write than they actually write.

You use; "pre-judge" too broadly, again you rely on the politically correct but unofficial definition. Lacking a feeling of superiority or a dislike based solely on a basis of their social, physical or cultural characteristics or a negative stereotype, there is no true prejudice and there is no racism.

You sir, need to get yourself schooled before you start throwing around political bullshit. You're stinking up the place with it.
You seriously need major exposure to reality because you live in a fantasy-land.

Precisely what' "political bullshit" did I mention? Political correctness has nothing to do with politics. It is the belief of treating other people and their religion, culture, etc. with sensitivity. So just where was my alleged "political bullshit" mentioned? I never said a single thing about politics, not one. And you believe that I am the one who needs to be schooled?
