would something like this help to remove odors in a room without being sealed to a cabinet? Like just having it attached to a fan and circulating the air should help I would think....

better off growing other smelly plants in there.... like sage or something..... like a lot of it..... or get one of those air purifiers that stands alone

Yes it would help. It's called an air scrubber where you draw air and exhaust air from the same enclosed space.

I planned on doing this this myself. I'll take Zen's model ( a second one I'm building) and attached it to cirular piece of plywood with a hole cut into it. I'll mount the filter in one side and a 120mm fan on the other side. The plywood will be cut to include a couple of tabs that I'll drill holes through to allow attaching clips, string, etc. to when it's being installed. I'll probably suspend it with some strong cord. I only need the thing to get rid of the smell in the winter time. I don't want to exhaust the air as I need to keep heat in.

Here's one I built to do similarly with but I still want to build another Zen model as I just described.

Here is the one I made for my closet. It's still running strong and doing the job, check out page 4 for pics of the closet.......

Only 1 canister of carbon was needed and the ties were too small, I had to get 14'' zip ties. The twist-clamps were too small also.

I tried using two filters, but carbon ended up spilling out a vent, 4 works perfect.

The small pencil holder don't quite sit low enough so I used a nail and hammer to add some holes at the bottom.

NIGHT BEFORE...........

SORRY TO HOG THE THREAD!!! the 50 CFM bath fan is going to work great for my space, I have it all hooked up and find myself missing the sweet aroma!!! haha I will post a pic of it in action tomarrow. YOU DA MAN WOLFIE!!!![/quote]

Nice design caddyluck ! It looks serious 4 sure! Like the use of the bathroom fan.

It does the job, the closet is just 2x4x6.5. I pulled 5.5oz off 2 plants the first run, 4.25oz off 3 plants the second run, and am 1 week into flower on the third run. :weed:

IM sorry and i dont mean to sound stupid but could i just place that ontop of my cupboard where a hole is? and will it get rid of the smell.WHat i mean it theres a hole on top of my cupboard just tape it over that hole. No air movement but the air that would go near it does the smell go away? or does it need to be on the other end of an outake fan?
