The big LED question...

So to equal a hps in yeild i will need a minimun of the same wattage in led and a slightyl different grow style.
No... as i said in an ealier post... i replaced 2000w of hid with 1300w of cob. If i do 1 gpw with the cob i wi be right where i was with the hid at 3lbs or so depending on strain. Maybe you do a lot better than i do with hid? 8x4 2000w hid = 3lbs usually ... not bad in my books...

1 lumen of pure par is a shit growlight, 10000 lumens with average par will out grow it, par is not the be all and end all and lumens par who gives a turd, yeild is the king to me and most others!

No you and others think led is 50% better for yeild again, like i and others can just read where you and others are saying this!

Bro you're an irritating contrarian. Youre not familiar enough with the terms to dispute what experienced growers are explaining. Youre also confused about the science. Demonstrate some self respect by doing your homework or being more humble.

Also coherence is fundamental to learning anyrhing : "No you and others think led is 50% better for yeild again, like i and others can just read where you and others are saying this!" GTFOH. Do some research. First rule of DIY is show initiative

Another personal attack again, par isnt the be all and end all, green light will grow some good dank with enough of it and full spectrum beats just photosynthetic par in my eyes. Quoting par is a feeble exscuse for a subject that again is probably as large as most!
Bullshit all Bullshit , you are an uneducated idiot, that's personal! You have just been ignored... you have to learn before you teach.. F--- off....I don't think you even grow..
green light!! lmfao!

Agreed electric and nutes cost means dick I want yield and quality I've seen quality with led but yield is lacking as of now till I see different. Cobs are best bet but again hps is cheap effective and easy to replace
I pay 17pence (roughly 20 cents) a kilowatt hour, cheaper than this at night. If i run a 600watt for a 12 hour cycle i pay about £1.22 a night (somewhere around a buck fifty US). Ten weeks of that and i pay £85.40 for 500grams or so, over 600 if your good.

Even if i factor in the fans im lucky if a flowered crop cost me £100 in cold hard electricity. Low street price here is £160 (and thats being generous) an Oz and 500grams is close enough to 18 Oz so i sell up and hey presto i have £2880 sitting in my hand of which that £100 pounds represents a few percent of my grow profits.

What you save in electricity and loose to hps in yeild arent worth it, saving electricity is marketing hype at todays weed prices.
Pretty much this, I got both LEDs and HID lights, the LEDs are pretty much collecting dust cause they can't yield like the HID lights unless you invest like 10 grand, and even than its not better bud just less electric, I actually prefer the HPS, and I have a lot of lights, I got old LEDs that are blurple I got new ones that are all white COBs and I got ones that are mono diodes with red and white.

par just tells you that a source is producing light somewhere in the 400-700nm range.these claims of high par are very misleading. even HPS lights and LPS lights produce light in that range.

The voice of growers who lack the skill to utilize the best gear/ latest tech has already been heard.

Dont be discouraged looks like you have a yuuuge opportunity to improve.

If youve run a CXB or CXA or Vero or Citi with proper PPFD of 900 + you would be suprised by the yield difference.
I can agree the the blurple isnt as great, however it has outyielded my HPS everytime.

You can get 1 gram per watt with HID, I harvested 1.5 pounds from a single 600w hps light, all about veg time , training and strain you grow.
True. If i veg 4 weeks and dont scrog i get my 3 lbs on that 2000w. I can do a lot more if i veg longer and scrog... but scrog just isnt convenient in my space right now.

I just harvested 3 pounds from 2 600w hps, all organic and super dank, I do have room to improve but I mean I don't think LEDs are the way to go for me.

PAR, meaning PAR watts, can be compared from one light source to another. There may be some spectrum variance and most lights including LED emit light outside the PAR range, but if you know the PAR wattage of two lamps you will have a pretty good idea of how they will perform relative to each other. LEDs are all over the board. HPS not so much, you buy one you know what you're getting. I was regularly pulling 1.5 GPW in hydro using the gen5 Veros from 3 years ago.

I have a nice LED setup 2x area 51 RW150, and 1x home made CXA2590 x 4 with 660 + 680 + 730 diodes (all bridgelux) , still can't compete with my 600w hps cause the coverage sucks and the lack of intensity.

OK. I hear that.

But the fact is that LED puts out more PAR. And LED watt for watt will certainly out yield any hid bulb under test conditions.

@Rahz I'm still pulling huge colas from gen 5 v29s

Look par is not the be all and end all, lumens combined with par is way more important than par itself. Like full spectrum vs thos ebluple lights, youd expect bluple to kick full spectrums ass but is simply dosent. Again par is more than you guys make out and your personal attacks are fast getting boring and it seems like it is you who are the uneducated because you have very little understanding of par past what is written on the led hype sites, FACT!
WRONG!
