Anyone ever try one of these Bong Buddy things? Ingenious idea if you ask me but the magnet strength is what I'm questioning.

This is what it is.

Looks like a pretty cool invention, but I think I'll stick to the tried and true Acetone/Salt homemade bong cleaner. It takes out even the old thick baked on resin inside my Glass bongs pretty fast.

You know, I might want this. My 2 footer has a permanent grunge in the bottom half of the water part. And that was a birthday gift. I'm so neglectful. Boo me.

Yeah my friend actually has this thing, Worst idea ever IMO. It works so half assed that it does NOTHING that alcohol and salt wont do, Twelve times as fast. Like somebody ^ there said that if you move too fast it falls off and then you have a magnet falling into your glass bong and putting tiny chips in it (this actually happend.) Plus if you got permanent resin marks on the walls of your bong this wont get it off, its less effective that ISO and salt forsure.

Its something somebody came up with when they were stoned and it sounded mad good in theory, which is why every stoner with a bong thinks its a good idea, Cause it sounds good, in theory...Until they try to actually use it. LOL.

Salt and alcohol works great. Why would you need something to rub the walls when the alcohol/salt will just eat away and rub off the stains?

Fill bong with isopropyl alcohol (you can get 90+% at wallgreens, 99% at CVS) , fill with a lot of salt. Cover the openings and swirl the salt/alcohol over the stains. Swish the salt over all parts of the bong in a circular motion.

Bam, bong is sparkley new.

WHATT where do you live? i just went to CVS 2 days ago to buy some iso alcohol and looked around and the highest they had is 91%, just like everywhere else around here. Id love to find 99% locally.

I actually like using it for certain things. It doesn't work better than salt and alcy, but... It gets off what salt and alcy wont... That being salt residue or tiny spots near the percolator where salt and alcy cant break away any resin due to small area. It's something to use with my regular cleaning.

I can find 99% at Tom Thumb grocery stores here in Texas, so I would assume whatever their sister store for the rest country would also carry the 99%

Yeah, I tried the salt/ alcohol bit once with meh results. Maybe I didn't put in enough salt. I know the 91%+ alcohol is much more expensive (and works better), but if it can sparklize that 2 footer it'd be worth it. I'm ashamed at the state of that poor bong.

i use a similar type product on my aquarium which has 1/2inch glass and the magnet required for a good scrub is much larger 2"x3". if you move too fast the inner magnet falls off. i think ill keep cleaning my bong with alcohol and salt
I have a custom aquarium thats like the same thickness as yours none of those damn magnet scrubbers work for it, I have to get in there with a razor to get that shit off.

Good question. The magnetc strength on the bong buddy sucks. The pads got stuck in my piece and taking them out was pretty disgusting getting resign everywhere. I use a magnetic bong sponge that has 25lbs of magnetic force. I'm pretty sure they're new I found them on Instagram. (@quickcleanbong) They are the easiest way I've ever found, I would never use anything else again, chem cleaner isn't necessary either. You flip the magnet on the outside to switch sponge sides. There's a video on their website. I think you get like three sponges, which are reusable and last for about a week. All that for about $8 bucks.
