The Chinese Quantum Board Knock Off Builds

Narrowed it down to either two LM561C 560 boards with separate heatsinks + 240 drivers or 3 LM301B 288 boards with separate heatsinks + 120 drivers.

Thoughts?
Id go for 3 boards over 2. But if you skip paying for heatsinks and shipping of heatsinks you could probably get away with 3 boards with minimum heatsinking at around 80w each for those 560 boards.

FYI Kingbrite's LM301b boards have come down a bit in price, although the listing doesn't state SK bin any longer. Down $40 for a 3 board setup.

Have any of you messed with adding UV instead of cranking the temps up? UV tubes are so.... single purpose, and I've read it's easy to damage plants with them. I was considering running a 4100 or 6000k 400w MH or a 4100k 315w CMH in between my two 300w boards, to provide some warmth and fill in the spectrum. 5x5 tent.

Finally ordered - 2 x 560 LM561C S6 with heatsinks + seperate 240-B drivers.

Should be enough for 4.5ft.
I have 2x 240 driver in a 4x4 running at 520w.. i feel I could use a little more power especially on the sides of the tent so 4.5x4.5 might be a little stretch if youre planning to fill your space wall to wall with plants. If its not too late id aim for a 600 driver instead assuming your boards and heatsink can deal with the heat

4.5x2, I think I'm good.

Guys I have bought 24 of 48 samsung lm561c led boards. The supplier suggested 2 unit of hlg 240h c700b drivers. I have found elg's locally. I am a noobie on the subject. But 700 ma sounds low. What drivers would you suggest? Any advice will be highly appriciated

BTW, thanks @Rocket Soul and @Moflow for suggesting these.
Let us know how you go, i think 240w per board is a lot but you can allways add a few more boards at a later time and run them softer.

Also congrats on getting out of the planning stage, some people spend years planning what to get. Having bought several things myself and seen how little difference there is i kinda kick myself for losing time deciding for so long.

If i remember right: forward voltage around 22V: these chips are .2w nominal, max around .6 watts. With 48 of them you will have nominal around 12w and max around 30w. If you run them at 700mA they will be around 15w or .3 w per chip which i find completely reasonable. Hlg boards are better quality, they usually have you run their boards at around .4w per diode.

Received the 560 kits. :)

Didn't want to start a new thread, plus this could be relevant for new users shifting to QBs.

Have both dialled down to 165W (same as what the blurples were pulling). Plants are drooping around the 14 hour mark. With the blurple they would droop mostly in the last hour before lights out. Hanging height is 24 inches, should I raise the lights or leave them as is?

Are you on 16/8 vegg? if so, am i right to say they are droopy one hour earlier? id give it a couple of days and see how the plants react.

Yes, 18/6. With the blurples it was around an hour, with the 560's they seem to be getting tired or maybe stressed at around 14 hours. Raised it a couple of inches, now it's at 26.

Sounds good. Be on the look out for plant bleaching, purple stems and mag def. Whats yoir temps like? Make sure they arent to low, about 80F

If you feel your giving about 4 hours too much light then yeah back them off a bit (rather than dimming, you got temps on point) and try to bring them closer slowly and up the nutes a little as you bring them closer. If you drop the light 6 inches in one go you will have probs, defs abd bleaching.
