"Perhaps we had better start from the beginning ...."
doing this cfl/soil grow thing again.this thread is the rest of my diesel ryder grow and the beginning of the roadrunner automatic grow.the diesel ryder started off having a few issues.it got rootbound in the peat pellet i germed in it.it stunted its growth at the begining but picked up after i transplant it.it got its first hairs at 2 weeks old and 2 inches tall.its had a ton of growth since then.its gonna be a short..very dense plant.ill include pics of it at the end here...kinda a start to current thing with the pics..to get everyone updated on it.the roadrunner is currently being germed in wet paper towels..then going right into the soil..probly tomorrow that will happen.the diesel is in a mix i made...1/3 organic soil,1/3 perlite, 1/3 peat moss...the roadrunner is going into some MG moisture control soil that ive mixed in some perlite to handle the moisture on my own.i dont give any nutes during veg..just worm castings..then finish with some big bud in flower.so i went with the MG for this plant to give more nutes at the begining than i get with the organic soil..which has no nutes.the grow box is about 8 cubic foot or so now i that i made it a lil taller.ive got 4 cfls in there with 600 watts total.2 200 watt 6500k's and 2 100 watt 2700k's.im going to add 2 more in after the roadrunner gets going.3 fans in it now...2 cpu fans for intake and exhaust.and a big ass desk fan blowing in right at the lights.the box temps now hold at about 85f with the lights on and about 78f with the lights off.all my grows will be done with a 20/4 light cycle.....now to some pics......

Lookin' good man. I just had a Diesel seed that died :/ lookin to buy another one!
if it wasnt so damn droopy it would be a great plant.ive done all i could as it comes to letting it dry out before watering...i guess some plants just droop like that.so far ive had success with diesel seeds.i started a short rider seed the same time as this one and it would not grow at all.turned white and shriveled up.

started some light lst'ing on the diesel tonight...have 2 bottom chutes that are getting huge and needed some light.first time on a plant that ive seen side branching bust out with so many hairs on it on this young of a plant.if this thing keeps growing at this pace and the lst im doing helps..might get a decent yield after all.if not ive got the roadrunner started..and should be planted in soil tomorrow..then 3 more strains to follow.i cant wait to start the bubblelicious....but that will be at least 60 days from now...if the roadrunner keeps on track and finishes on time, and the diesel will be long done by then.ill have new pics up tomorrow.

its getting better..the diesel gave me fits at first but its doing ok.and seeds normally do good for me.ive never had a seed not germ...its getting it past the seedling phase that seems to be a bitch at times.oh btw can call me ruiner....dj is my job....ruiners the name...hahaha.but ill have some more pics tonight..and should be planting the roadrunner later too..this would be much more fun if i was able to get high right now.turns out my guy retired...so im screwed till i find a new guy or these get done.

the lsting seemed to help some of the side growth....im giving up on it getting more height...but the way the hairs are growing through it..might be one big ass dense bud...but here she is today.

Thats about the same size I let all mine pop to, then I throw them in rockwool and let them sit in dark for another day. I've had really good luck doing it this way..

The diesel rider is looking good, I bet she will start to perk up for you soon but she will probably always have a little bit of a droop to her.

yeah..i normally let it get a little bigger..seems to grow faster in the first couple weeks that way..figured id ask..i know i dont even have to germ them this way...but making sure i dont fuck this one up.and for the diesel ryder it perks up everyday...till i water it then back to drooping it goes.got great soil mix in it and great drainage...but it still acts like its overwatered...i waited almost a week and half before the last watering...the soil was very very dry...leaves was pointing straight out..then i watered it like normal and it drooped back down in a matter of hours.the roadrunner is going in the old soil mix i made which it grew a 3 foot plant in about a month and a half...not using the peat moss this time...and its going into the pot its staying in...no peat pellets ..learned my lesson.

welp....into her new home she goes...im looking for it to sprout in 2-3 days...then in the box it goes...will be under a 20/4 light cycle...same as all my autos go on.this one is in MG moisture control soil with a mix of half and half soil/perlite.this soil seems to work well with auto's..and i know people bitch about miracle grow and it having nutes in it...but the way i see it is..this soil has the nutes that it needs for 3-4 weeks before needing to be fed anything else...well after 3-4 weeks its already going into the flowering stage...will keep me from giving it any nutes during veg..other then the worm casting tea..which has proven to really really help my plants.then just bloom nutes.so to all the mg haters...bite me...its not the most well known and top selling soil for nothing.if your shit died in MG...maybe it was something YOU did...but enough for the ranting..will just see how this grow goes.

Oh and are Your lights really 200 and 100 watt cfls? I have a feeling your reading the wrong wattage. Are your reading the[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]incandescent wattage? I could be wrong tho.

the box is a normal cardboard packaging box..i lined the inside with a black plastic liner then i cut out and fitted in a windshield reflector (mylar) tossed a couple of cpu fans on the side for intake and exhaust.then got a desktop fan on the side blowing in on the lights and the plant..ive also added hoods on the inside and outside where the fans are to block any light from going in or out..here is a pic of the box from the outside..dont have exact measurements..but its around 8 cubic ft...and ps...those are not my pink shirts in the pic..its on my girls side of the closet...my side is full of bass amps and computers...ha

well as far as i know the 6500k bulbs are a true 200 watts a piece...not sure on the 2700k...got them off ebay from sunset hydro...didnt come in the original package like the 6500k's did.they was listed as 100 watt...not sure if its the 26w=100 watt or not...can only go by what im told...seeing as these are marketed as "grow bulbs" i hope thats what they are...if not ive still got enough watts going to one plant..with the mylar reflecting and no light leaks

update..after research, figured out what ive really got..Color Temperature: 6500K Watts: 105W Equals to 400W Incandescent Bulb Output x2
Color Temperature: 2700K Watts: 85W Equals to 350W Incandescent Bulb Output x2=380 true watts...
teaches me not to listen to some fuckwads on ebay
