Plus I want you all to fully appreciate the importance of the slap. Hearing all of this 'why would someone slap someone?' 'that's gay' i mean....people get SLAPPED where I'm from, lol, I've SEEN it happen...I mean, I guess if it were a gay guy slapping someone...but DUDE, those guys got slapped and knocked the fuck DOWN (and OUT in some cases...)

I'm not saying that a slap is more PHYSICALLY devestating, i'm saying it's more of an INSULT (although after watching those youtube vids I'm not quite sure...)
Of COURSE a fist does more damage, that's why in cases of abuse or assault they make such a big deal out of the distinction between being hit with a closed fist and an open hand.

as for the "legal" argument of punch v. slap i think that they should be evenly weighted because if you include the details of the striking, it opens up an infinite amount of variables that can give perpetrators of abuse more lenient sentences.

lol, you really should at least read the first post to get what my argument is here...lol, I'm not really talking about legal standpoints either. I'm just asking, if a guy SLAPS you, do you take it the same way as if he'd PUNCHED you? Because I was talking about it with my brother, and he agrees that he'd be more insulted by a slap.

well talking about punching and what not, i got into a fight last night. let me start from the beginning. this kid i know wanted me to go to his party so is said o.k. there wasnt anybody that i really new there. well anyways this guy who is 5 years older than me starts talking shit about black people and arien brother hood. now i am white but dont want to hear that shit so i said something. pretty soon i get blind sided in the jaw so i turned knocked the dude on the ground and started beating the shit out of him next thing you know i see a cowboy boot in my face. so pretty much another dude jumps in and im having to fight two other people. do you think this is fair or some complete pussy bullshit?

Slap: Calculated thoughts, mental pain, hurts your pride, and puts you in your place cuz you're a little bitch...
Punch: Burst of anger, physical pain, hurts your face, puts you in your place because you just got knocked the fuck out..
It's kind of like calling someone a piece of shit rather than telling them to fuck off.
A piece of shit is the lowest of the low, they just called you worst that dirt.
Fuck off is just a stupid burst of anger, trying to 'get back' at you in a fucking rude way.
Personally, I feel that girls do a good enough job with the verbal insults, so if I had (and have had) to choose, I'd punch her in the fucking face. I don't need to insult her with a slap that isn't even gonna do much damage. Besides, I'm not a good slapper, I can't get the speed that those guys in the vids can, and I don't have a big enough palm make a real effect.
