He just suggested a food saver, I never said I was going to use that.

Yes I understand the difference.

I don't think you understand what I'm saying.

I need a reverse bike-ISH pump(Vacuum). Not a "Bike pump". And the rotisserie motor, and that's that.
A rotisserie motor spins at 6-120 rpm's , a rotary vacuum pump spins at 1600-2000 rpm's.

Also ... the design of a reciprocating compressor pump is ill-suited to vacuum duty. That is why radial vane-type pumps are pretty much the mechanical standard for drawing a good vacuum. cn

This is not about vacuum sealing mason jars. This is about maintaining a constant -29 vacuum to purge butane, not sealing jams or jellies.

Jesus Christ, when will you children listen to older more experienced people who are trying to educate your dumb asses!!!
Easy with the name calling there Mr. 77 posts.
I didn't say to use the food saver pump, just the mason jar attachment so that you don't have to make a hose/duct tape hookup. I can get 29 inHg with a small hand pump hooked up to the mason jar. Besides, what makes you think the food saver machines cannot achieve that level? The better ones are rated about 0.75kpa which is >29inHg. Also, why do you need such extreme negative pressure to removed the butane? I would think any vacuum is better than none, and I know a lot of people make BHO without vacuum purging.

Heres my first attempt at making Bubble Hash.

Just bough a 5 gallon 4 bag kit a few days ago. Hows it look?

I know its nothin close to Mr. Rize's but it gets me fucking stoned.

The one on the left bubbles up nicely when you light it. Definetly the betterquality.

Will have tons more to come got at least 10-15 lbs of trimmings.

Thanks that was trimmings and smaller nugs from GHSC's kings kush. Bud came out pretty low quality. But the hash i made from it smokes pretty good.

Cant wait to make some hash from my vortex, deep purple, qleaner, and agent orange trimmins. Thats gonna be some nice hash.

This is exactly what you said...

Food Saver vacuum sealers have mason jar attachments. It shouldn't cost more than $50 to get a good vacuum on a jar.
Implying that you could get a good vacuum with a $50 Food Saver. You can't !!

Which is what I use and what I originally suggested where I even included a link.

Those aren't $50 either.

For an adequate purge, that's why.

And they're making SHIT if it has ANY residual 'tane left in their product.

Dude, why are you so hostile? Smoke something and chill.

Actually, I didn't imply it, you inferred it.
I only mentioned the attachment because of the duct tape and hose job in someone else's picture. It come with airline tubing that can be used with a multitude of pumps. Considering the mason jar attachment is probably about $10-15, I didn't think anyone would be able to get a quality Food Saver vacuum unit for $35, I was actually figuring a hand pump like the Actron or SMP with gauge off eBay for the $35.
Which is what I use and what I originally suggested where I even included a link.
Yea, well your link was $150 ON SALE. My way was 1/3 the cost. Unless you have some relationship to the vendor in the link you posted which you haven't disclosed, I really don't understand why you seem so angry about my post.

For an adequate purge, that's why.
But who came up with 29? Why isn't 24 sufficient if maybe it just takes longer? My question was serious as I actually have seen different people claim various negative pressures work.
And they're making SHIT if it has ANY residual 'tane left in their product.
That's their option no? Some people cook off the residual and whip it and think that's sufficient and it seems to work for whatever they are taking the medicine for. Your opinion has been noted however.

@phunk, you a bad ass bro, ahha, i hella dig your style! but honestly, i was about to ask the same thing bout where did this number 29 ome from, but didnt want to seem like a total newb, lol, but if im not mistaken... vac purging works as simple as...creating negative pressure to suck out butane vapaoprs?, i would think any level negative pressure would accomplish this, but maybe it will take longer depending on the level of pressure?

There's a pressure that does it right. Maybe it is variable, but there is at least a good "range" to be in.
Other wise it dries it weird, or discolored.
But if you're not worried about the exact consistency, what's the problem? :)

29.92"Hg is a perfect vacuum and pretty close to impossible to get without NASA or a university as you have to approach absolute zero and radiation shielding. 29 is about 96% vacuum and 27 is about 90% and 24 about 80%.

The harder the vacuum, the better the purge. The 29 number means inches of mercury. Since our air has a pressure of ~30 inches of mercury, a vacuum of 30 would be "perfect". However a much better measure imo is Torr or mm Hg. Air is at 760 Torr. A 29-inch vacuum is about 24 Torr. A well-tuned mechanical pump can draw less than 1 Torr, at which point any volatiles in your bho would "foam up" like that spray can urethane stuff. When the foam collapses, yer done. cn
