The family living on my porch

Hi guys!

Every year the same two Robins ( I think they are the same two, one fat momma and a skinny male) make a nest on my porch and birth some offspring.

The momma is so used to me I can stand out on the porch next to the nest and she does not care. She knows I am not going to hurt her.

Dad is not havin' that shit though, when he is around he tries to fight me off the porch. Here he is droppin' some worms in the bellies.

Good for you......!
Sounds like you enjoy your new residents
One question though......do they rebuild the nest every year

I've got barn swallows that move in every spring.

The dude is pretty chill and doesn't pay me much heed, but momma bird is flighty as hell. They had 3 clutches last year, 14 total birds born and fledged. They've had 11 so far this year, and momma appears to be sitting on another clutch.

They're great parents, awesome flyers, and I look forward to seeing the little bastards every year.

Seeing a lot of life this year, gives me some kind of hope for the world. Rabbits running through my yard every morning, seeing a lot more june bugs this year, gophers, blue jays beating up half the birds in my yard, and hummingbird moths are coming back around.

Actually most wasps don't sting

their considered benfical insects becouse they pollinate many plants espically early flowering nuts/fruits , some even lay eggs inside bugs killing them
Yeah, they hang by the basil bush and lemon tree. Different kinds of wasps too. I've been stung twice in my life, both were my fault :eyesmoke::eyesmoke:
