The French Cannoli` Hash Thread

Thank you Frenchy.

I am working with a lot of AO trim at the moment. Some batches I have run 8 times and still felt that some of the trichomes just didn't want to let go. This latest batch I have the 73 bag crumbs up well but the 45 is quite difficult to break up with the knife it is soft. I have been drying in the fridge since my first batch of hash...a nice slow cool dry is crucial to the quality that I can now attain (I believe - especially since it is summer here).

How did you find the AO releasing the trichomes?

NB: I mix by hand...so I would reduce that done by at least half...so 4 washes per batch of trim - still thinking they have more trichomes to release than they are allowing per wash.

after you wash you can use the trim to make butter still or oil. if you wash it 8 times then nothing left. i think 3 washes then butter time.

Check your trims with a magnifying glass and see if you have anything left.
AO was an easy girl compare to Timewreck or some Haze.
Anyway 3 to 5 times is the norm, butter ending to make sure is a good move when you want to maximize

Hi Frenchy!

Thank you very much for sharing you knowledge with the world.
I am sitting here in cold austria and enjoying some really awesome Skywalker Kush Ice. Made with your technique.

The first run gave me some really really sticky and golden 73. It almost melts at room-temps.

I pressed it out, let it dry for a day and pressed it with a hot bottle (filled with hot water).

What are the next steps? How long should i keep them in cannoli-shape?
When is the right time to roll them into balls for curing?

I already read 83 pages in this thread, but i'm not sure about the next steps. Dont want to destroy this awesome hash.

Thank you and big greetings.

truly Forever! I let my cannoli in state and they are good.
when I wanna smoke, I heat the part I need or I cut a small part out of the cannoli.
I store my hash in a cool and dark room. open jars at least once per day

When is the right time to roll them into balls for curing?

Cure them as cannolis, don't repress them.
Look at the videos from subcool, the last Weednerd n°184, frenchy is there, he has always some cannolis... look carefuly

Open your container 2 times per day during the next month.
After this first month, open it once every day.
one month of curing, you will have some marvelous flavorish hash

Thank you and big greetings.

I Wish you the best

Beautiful work my cold Austrian Weed Nerd friend, seriously Ouh La La!!!!
So you first dry and for that you need to chop/shave/micro-plane your resin as fine and as evenly as possible without using a freezer but fridge is fine.
You then press it with a hot water bottle as in your second pictures. I personally roll a Cannoli for the curing and aging but ball are as good if not better. As long as marketing goes on the other hand, Frenchy aged cannoli sounds way better than Frenchy aged balls.
The curing should last 6 to 10 weeks depending on size and strain. The aging can go for years. The oldest I personally smoked in India was 8 years old, the oldest I have heard was 12 years old, 2 to 3 years old is the average

hey frenchy a little off topic but do you still believe its not necessary to decarb before ingesting? if so could you help me explain why? thanks for all the help sir really appreciate it

I still believe that it is not mandatory to decarb when you ingest because the cannabinoids are processed by the liver instead of going through the blood system, the primary active component of cannabis, Δ9-THC is converted to the more psychoactive 11-hydroxy-THC by the liver.
If
anybody has any doubt on the subject just try some unpressed and non-decarb resin (easier to eat than flowers) in the morning and get back to me.
Various level of decarb may change certain factors of the experience but it is not necessary to experience the effects.

whatz up my french man i did another hash run got like 12 grams, i guess im going to have to go back and read this whole thread again and let all this info burn into my brain because i get good yields of hash but its always either light brown or green or black its hardly ever tan or blonde like yours is, i freeze my trim as soon as i cut it off in the freezer and i know u said not to do that to put in fridge is this why i dont get blonde hash or is it because of my matterial that im running, Thanks always your friend bigworm

Could be part of it freezing would make the green breakup easier. Although i just made a run for a friend who had it frozen for weeks. Turned out great, until 3. wash where green materiel started to come through the screens. I think it was because we could not keep the water cool enough and were hard on the materiel.

On the eating hash subject. I find that just eating straight hash dont work so good for me. Instead a capsule with a mix of hash and coconut oil will give me a good long lasting high. Peanutbutter oil for a strong high that fades quick. Just my 2cents :)

My personal take is if you want the psychoactive properties you need to decarb.... (I really hate to disagree with you Frenchy and I mean no disrespect).

I have made edibles both no decarb and with decarb. Hands down with the decarb is far more potent.

I have also experienced a stronger high as the cookies come out of the oven opposed to eating them the next day. But there is no science behind this statement and I'm pretty sure it is because I sneak samples as we wait.

Here is a link that I found:

<quote> Why decarboxylate marijuana?

Quite simply, by decarboxylating marijuana you are making it more psychoactive than it is in it’s natural state. You are bringing out the most of it’s ability to give you a “high” or medicated effect when ingested. This comes in handy when you are going to ingest the marijuana without burning/heating/vaporizing it first.
