The Grove

As my thread "theowl's nest" is mostly my weird ramblings and indoor setups, I wanted to start fresh here in The Grove with my outdoor endeavors.

I have yet to make my selections and I know the time is drawing near...

I have a good seed base to pull from, as well as plants in veg for cuts. It's just that I can't figure on what I want to do.

I think that I should only do four plants max outdoors, that will be more than enough to hold me over and I still have the indoor to contend with.

Ill post a list of my options next, then maybe we can cull out down to what needs to be done..

I'm thinking Silver Haze, Blueberry, Romulan, and BSB.
The silver haze is in seed form, the rest I'll need to use cuts for. With the exception of the Rom. I can put down seed for that as well if need be. Just waiting for my cut of Rom#7 to root before I go overboard.

Thanks King, hoping I put on a good show.

Ill be more productive here, once I get things rolling.

Obtained new plants recently. Timewreck, cheesequake, ace of spades.

Which means I'll use one of each, and a Blueberry for my four.

Sometimes you gotta scrap a plan before it starts ;)

So, I have three cuts of BlueBerry, one each from its own seed, grown out and cloned, then to me.
They were as follows,#1,#2,#7. I will be putting #1 in the ground, as they are all the same.(gotta love em when they breed true!)

The Romulan #7 had to be removed from the plant, was getting a black spot. Cut, to the water, and hormones then bubble cloner with her.

The BSB cuts are looking haggard ish. Beet to get out of soil and into cloner also.
Needs them roots!!!

Timewreck and cheesequake and ace of spades are just about a week old.
Will try for pics tomorrow.

Poplars, thanks for looking, I'll be out working my site and popping off pics, so I'll see if my comp. will let me put them up.

Guess I need to research the TW,CQ,&AOS. See what's what with them. Pretty sure those are TGA gear, just needs more info--

well I'm growing CQ so I happen to know it's lineage.

it is Exodus Cheese x Querkle (Purple Urkel x Space Queen)

How do you like it? Any good on pain?
haven't tried it yet. I mainly got it because I wanted to try the cheese. that's about it.

I'm not a big fan of subcool in general, I find his arrogance leaks through on to his genetics and I don't indend on growing anymore of his strains in the future. in fact I intend to breed out the cheese out of this strain to make it as non-subcool as possible ;).

I hear ya.

I don't have any experience with TGA, or too much knowledge on how he(subcool)does his work, but I hear things from both sides of the fence. But, that goes for a lot of mainstream breeders.

I am, however a proud proponent for stability, and consistency.
I like to know what's gonna happen with what I throw down.

But, being that all these are new to me, i am at a disadvantage.
I am persistant, however, so I figure it'll be ok;)

I'm mainly against subcool for his arrogant attitude, and his insistence on saying his strains are something that they are not. they are not connoisseur strains, they are mutt strains. not that they're bad mutts, IMO mutts are the best dogs in teh world ;) but if I was to call myself a connoisseur I wouldn't be breeding mutts.

Right.

I would imagine a connoisseur would want to have stable genes and phenos, and be proud and take the time to actually get them there.

I myself would love to have just land races from the various locations around the globe. Then I could start from square one, and be very diligent in/on/towards what I was working with.

But that's just MY dream. Not saying others don't have it too, but I can't only speak for myself.

Haha, shoot! I forgot all about this thread! I'm such a goof..

my last years outdoor girls either got bug ate, or drought took a toll and stunted them. The AOS only got about 15" tall at finish and yielded about a quarter. Damn good smoke, wish it would've gotten big enough for clones.

The blueberries got eaten by both my rabbit, and then termites destroyed it for good, along with my BSB pink pheno.. It was a really bad year outdoors for me.
But I have a feeling that the upcoming season will be a heck of a lot better. Even going to do another early spring harvest!

Luckily the grasshoppers weren't that bad.. It was a beetle migration that wiped out most everything. Even the leaves off my trees!
