Just a couple of facts about our sacred herb from the bible!

1: And I will raise up for them a plant of renown, and they shall be no more consumed with hunger in the land, neither bear the shame of the heathen any more. -- Ezekiel 34:29

2: What is the Word of God on the Cannabis plant?

The hemp plant (scientific name: cannabis, slang: marijuana) is one of the many useful herbs "yielding seed after its kind" created and blessed by God on the third day of creation, "and God saw that it was good." (Genesis 1:12) He gave hemp for people to use with our free will.

God said, "Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed which is upon the face of all the earth.…To you it will be for meat." … And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. (Genesis 1:29-31) The Bible predicts some herb's prohibition. "Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times, some shall … speak lies in hypocrisy … commanding to abstain from meats which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. (Paul: 1 Timothy 4:1-3)

The Bible speaks of a special plant. "I will raise up for them a plant of renown, and they shall be no more consumed with hunger in the land, neither bear the shame of the heathen any more." (Ezekiel 34:29) A healing plant. On either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare 12 manner of fruits, and yielding her fruit every month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. (Revelations 22:1-2) A gift from God.
How was cannabis used in Biblical times and lands?

Cannabis was used 12 ways: clothing, paper, cord, sails, fishnet, oil, sealant, incense, food, and in ceremony, relaxation and medicine. For so the Lord said unto me, "I will take my rest and I will consider in my dwelling place like a clear heat upon herbs. For afore harvest, when the bud is perfect and the sour grape is ripening in the flower, he shall cut off the sprigs with pruning hooks and take away and cut down the branches." (Isaiah 18:4-5)

3:Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things." (Genesis 9:3).

:weed:
Herb (marijuana) is a Godly creation from the beginning of the world. It is known as the weed of wisdom, angel's food, the tree of life and even the "Wicked Old Ganja Tree". Its purpose in creation is as a fiery sacrifice to be offered to our Redeemer during obligations. The political worldwide organizations have framed mischief on it and called it drugs. To show that it is not a dangerous drug, let me inform my readers that it is used as food for mankind, and as a medicinal cure for diverse diseases. Ganja is not for commerce; yet because of the oppression of the people, it was raised up as the only liberator of the people, and the only peacemaker among the entire generation. Ganja is the sacramental rights of every man worldwide and any law against it is only the organized conspiracy of the United Nations and the political governments who assist in maintaining this conspiracy

THE USE OF MARIJUANA IN ANCIENT TIMES

The use of marijuana is as old as the history of man and dates to the prehistoric period. Marijuana is closely connected with the history and development of some of the oldest nations on earth.

It has played a significant role in the religions and cultures of Africa, the Middle East, India, and China Richard E. Schultes, a prominent researcher in the field of psychoactive plants, said in an article he wrote entitled "Man and Marijuana":

"...that early man experimented with all plant materials that he could chew and could not have avoided discovering the properties of cannabis (marijuana), for in his quest for seeds and oil, he certainly ate the sticky tops of the plant. Upon eating hemp the euphoric, ecstatic and hallucinatory aspects may have introduced man to an other-worldly plane from which emerged religious beliefs, perhaps even the concept of deity.

The plant became accepted as a special gift of the gods, a sacred medium for communion with the spiritual world and as such it has remained in some cultures to the present."

The effects of marijuana was proof to the ancients that the spirit and power of the god(s) existed in this plant and that it was literally a messenger (angel) or actually the Flesh and Blood and/or Bread of the god(s) and was and continues to be a holy sacrament. Considered to be sacred, marijuana has been used in religious worship from before recorded history.

According to William A. Embolden in his book Ritual Use of Cannabis Sativa L, p. 235:

"Shamanistic traditions of great antiquity in Asia and the Near East has as one of their most important elements the attempt to find God without a vale of tears; that cannabis played a role in this, at least in some areas, is born out in the philology surrounding the ritualistic use of the plant. Whereas Western religious traditions generally stress sin, repentance, and mortification of the flesh, certain older non-Western religious cults seem to have employed Cannabis as a euphoriant, which allowed the participant a joyous path to the Ultimate; hence such appellations as "heavenly guide".

hemp may have been among the first plants used for agricultural purposes in ancient Tamera (Egypt).

10,000 BC: In Taiwan, the earliest-known hemp relic in existence

8000 BC: In China, the earliest known cloth fabric is woven from hemp.

Feb. 2004: 9th Circuit US Court of Appeals holds that DEA can not regulate hemp foods. ( I just tossed this in here because it caught me by surprise, I wasn't aware of this)

There's actually a history of marijuana and it's uses from 10,000 BC to current day at that link, I just didn't want to post the whole thing because it went on forever.

Are you attending the world wide marijuana march on May 2? Check the link in my sig for a location near you.

I think I'm going to take that bible stuff with me. I'm not a bible believer, but it'll be nice to be able to whip open a bible and read off pro pot passages from the bible.

Do you have anymore weed bible quotes?

heres a little bit more.

HOW WAS THE MARIJUANA PLANT USED DURING BIBLICAL TIMES?
Cannabis was used 12 ways: as clothing, paper, cord, sails, fishnet, oil, sealant, incense, food, and in ceremony, relaxation and medicine.
"Cana" got its name from the same root word as "cannabis," indicating that hemp was grown there.
The Three Wise Men who came to witness the birth of Christ are believed to be Zoroastrians, who regarded hemp as a special gift of God.

heres more: WHAT DO THE 10 COMMANDMENTS SAY TO PEOPLE ABOUT USING MARIJUANA??

That thou shalt not hold it as a false god, "not lie" about it, "not steal" it and "not covet" it (Ex. 20:1-17). Nowhere in the Bible does it say people cannot grow, possess or smoke cannabis hemp.

HOW DID JESUS SPEAK OF MARIJUANA?

Although He lived among marijuana smokers, He said not to criticize a for their habits.

"Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; that which cometh out of the mouth defileth a man." (Mat. 15:11)

"Let him who is without sin cast the first stone." (John 8:7)

I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of Itself: but to him that esteemeth anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean. For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Ghost. (Paul: Romans 14:2,3,13,14,17)

WHAT DID HE SAY ABOUT GOVERNMENT?

He said to keep church and state separate.

render therefore unto Caesar the things which be Caesar's and unto God the things which be Gods." (Luke 20 25)

As we have already seen, it was God, not government, who gave man the seed bearing herbs to use.

WHO DID JESUS SAY CAN JUDGE OTHERS?

Jesus reserved judgement for God alone.

"Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgement ye judge, ye shall be judged." (Matthew 7:14)

WHAT ABOUT CRIME AND PUNISHMENT?

Jesus preached love and forgiveness.

"Peter said, "Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, "I say not unto thee until seven times: But until seventy timesseven." (Mat. 18:21-22)

He warned us about seizure and forfeiture laws.

"Beware of the scribes which ...devour widows' houses.... The same shall recieve greater damnation." (Luke 20:46-47)

The soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took His garments and made four parts, to euery soldier a part. (Jn. 19:33)

The Bible even predicted prohibition.

In the later times some shall ... speak lies in hypocrisy ... commanding to abstain from meats which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. (Paul: 1 Timothy 14)

WHAT, THEN, IS THE JUDEO-CHRISTIAN RESPONSE TO MARIJUANA PROHIBITION?

Tolerance, compassion and an unselfish effort to end this persecution of God's children.

Blessed are the peacemakers. (Matthew 5.9)

The Lord. . . hath sent me to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and the opening of the prison to them that are bound. (Isaiah 61:1)

Prisons do not save souls. It was God who created hemp. He gave us free will and instructed that mankind use "every green herb" on Earth.

"they persecute me wrongfully; help thou me." (Ps. 119:86)

Nothing in either the Bible or the U.S. Constitution says we can imprison those who follow their conscience and use marijuana in good faith.

Every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused if it be received with thanksgiving.... If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine. (Paul: I Timothy 4;1-6)

And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed...
And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I. Exod 3:2, 4

He looketh on the earth, and it trembleth: he toucheth the hills, and they smoke. (Ps 104:32)

All thy commandments are faithful: they persecute me wrongfully; help thou me.(Ps 119:86)

A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels: (Prov 1:5)

For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs... Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean. For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. (Romans 14:2,3,13,14,17)

Every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused if it be received with thanksgiving.... If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine. (I Timothy 4;1-6)

And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
(Rev 22:1-2)

I've heard a lot of people say that Paul's letter to Romans about obeying the laws of the land mean that we shouldn't smoke since it's illegal, but my logic was always that hypocrisy and corruption are the only things making it illegal so why not enjoy what God created for us like Genesis says.
