Looking at them everyday is like watching a pot boil.
I have never taken off the lower branches, does it not slow down growth?

not really when you only take the very lowest ones and helps the plant if anything as it doesn`t now need to keep pushing them up and can focus its energy into the buds..

LED's are good for supplemental lighting sense they put off almost no heat especially for the lower branches, I know a few people that use the little ufo led's for that.

when you remove the leaves don't do it all at once maybe a few at a time per week so as not to slow the growth from the plant repairing itself.

these are what I'm talking about: http://www.amazon.com/Lighthouse-Hydro-Light-Flowering-Watts/dp/B0051HOCJC/ref=sr_1_1/192-2009248-0297662?ie=UTF8&qid=1373513897&sr=8-1&keywords=led+ufo

sounds like a few of you got a hold of some nice strains some I have never heard of like the bilbo and red poison.

nice I looked up red poison and it is from sweet seeds where my double white is from.

red poison: green poison x purple auto..........seems like a nice colorful strain!

It was the colour that I was sold on, I think about 80% of them turn red so that would be cool to see.

Hello everyone! My god it is hot in the grow room... Don't know if me or my plants are sweating more! Probably me. ;-) Well, no-one seems to use or have used Fox Farm nutrients then? I was hoping for some advice! Also on where to get it. Irish growers don't seem to like it much I guess. Nooooooo!!! My mate said he got really good results with it, but that was a few years ago, and he got it shipped over from the UK. I don't want to go down that road! Still a bit paranoid about the whole growing thing. Everywhere I look it seems that people are looking at me strange. Maybe it is just because I look weird! I hope... Glad to see the heat issue discussed though. It helped me a bit! Peace me gro bro's

I doubt you wil get it in Ireland, a big company like FF would probably only sell through distributors so maybe if you sent them an email and asked if they had a distributor in Ireland, my guess is though that they probably only have a UK or European distributor.
On the other hand you will get great results with many other lower priced locally available nutes, I bought 5 litres of Biobizz fish mix from the big shop for 22 euro and the outdoor plants are really loving it and it will last a very long time with full dose being 5ml a litre.
Bear in mind also that light is the most important thing for your plants, if they haven't enough light there's nothing on earth you can feed them that will produce high yields, there's many lads on this thread who get great results with baby bio etc so my advice would be not to worry too much if you can't get the FF.
Good luck.

I'm gonna take a wild guess at what's wrong with your phone, you have no reception for calls but wifi still works.
Good stuff on the two plants, maybe the stems snapped with the weight.
What strain are the smaller plants, are they sativas?
Did anything happen to stress it or perhaps it's root damage?

Cutting off lower fan leaves is a mistake.

If the plant isn't using them it'll drop them by itself.

not just the fan leaves har, the lower branches also so the plant can focus on the flowers further up the stem almost like a soft lollipoping, i`m also a fan of de-foiliation and i think once used correctly it can help to get the few extra grams of dry weight... and it all counts..

i know there touchy subjects but i feel that just as in nature the plant can handle these changes...
