jUST TALKING TO ONE OF MY FRIENDS A FEW MINS AGO AND HE WAS SAYING JUST TO WATER TILL IT STARTS SEEPING OUT THE END AND SAID THEN THAT I WOULDNT REALLY WANT TO WATER FOR NEARLY 2 WEEKS, WOULD THIS BE TRUE HARREKIN

I cant recommend this.... not with seedlings anyway... A full grown plant in the summer then about 10% should run out the bottom... If you were water with that amount then the chances are the seedling will drown or have oxygen restriceded due to soggy soil...

When planting seedlings / clones only a small amount of water is needed...

Use a water sprayer only only keep moist...

All you have to do is water a little bit at the start, you'll get a feel for it. Also I use a Root Hormone in the water for my seedlings, so after a week or two my pots are full of roots, it helps with the watering situation.

harrekin i canrt wait until the haul is finished, a real mixed bag, should be a good summer this year if the mites dont eat the plants first. io watered today and the soil came alive with little tiny white bugs that crawled and hopped. trying to get rid of them now, the only good thing is i can now identify who it is i have to slaughter. i stuck one in bleach just to be cruel!im so bad)lol!
jingle i agree 100% with harrekin and jay, if you waterlog the pot like that the delicate roots of the seeling are not going to be able to get much air circulating and thats not a good start for your little seedling, just give it two squirts with the spray gun after putting say two handfuls of soil in, you only want it slightly damp and you want the roots to look for the water, it will make them stronger in the long run. good luck with it.
my tip of the day is dont buy cheap shitty erin soil, buy decent stuff, i wish id traveled to the grow shop that day and bought good stuff and then i would not be in this mess with the bugs
wankers=erin!

I heard you can put a layer of sand on top of your soil to stop bugs crawling out of it, just make sure its not sand thats very salty.

Seaweed extract is good for this... You can buy it in any garden store for about €8 and will last for ages...

Fill up a spray bottle and add a few drops of fairy liquid, this will get rid of them... You can also add a small capful of Isopropenyl Alchohol if you have any..

That'll be Kiddies play ground sand or builders sand...

thanks jay i`ve `heard about the dawns sop alright so if the bug clear and neem oil dont work then ill give the old fairy liquid a go. the infestation is not really bad yet but i dont want it to get any worse, i have heard of some stuff called spinosad that is supposed to be brilliant at getting rid of the critters, does anyone on here know can we buy it in ireland or of any other spray that has spinosad in it?
willoco the indicas ill let go to about 12-15 inches and the sativa it depends how they are going because they can get very tall, so it all depends on the strain. your plants are looking very healthy, hope you did not buy cheap shit soil like me? bugs galore now.
i never told you lads i found an animal bone in my bag of erin, it was like from a rabbit or something, i was grinding up the soil in my hand and felt something hard and it was a bone, like the top of a hip or something. if that got in im not surprised a few bugs got in.

yes harrekin i only had perlite so i put some of that on top soil for now, ill pick up some sand tomorrow.

Alright lads, well i got home today and checked my seeds and both of them had a tail like 3/4 of an inch, Man they grow fast. I popped them in the pots and just watered a bit around the edges of the pot so fingers crossed. haha and another thing, i had a pot that i popped a barneys flower power Auto about 2 and a half weeks ago in the tent and there was no sign of anything so was gonna just clean out the pot today when i was putting in the cheese and lsd and low and behold the suto had popped the soil, couldnt believe it...haha If i get my timeing right i will be able to harvest that just as i am flipping to 12/12. Getting a new cam on saturday so ill put some pics up at the weekend. Going away tomorrow so wont be able to check them till Saturday. Also what should my humidity be at, its running between 50 and 60% at the mo.

Some would die and some would thrive, depending on if they aerobic or anaerobic.
thats why i specified aerobic as i understand organic soil particularly, cannabis specific soil has a much higher % of aerobic microbes and enjoys a o2 rich soil and so adding sparkling water prob isnt the best idea.

Whats the seaweed recommendation
kelp is great for mixing into soils or for making an aerobic compost tea, should find it in any health store in some form or another.also stinging nettle leaves are great for teas too.you can find them in a ditch in a few weeks.

you should be alright with the humidity at the 60%, 60-70 is the best or so they say, as long as your getting the 60 with good ventelation you should be fine. on another note dig in tallaght is getting very expensive, there nutes are ok but everything else is just getting silly. i think they are taking advantage of all the home growers, just like they did with the detergent up the nose phase!, we should all start looking around so we all know where to get our stuff at the best prices, also if there are are a few of us looking for a certain thing then try get a discount for the lads on here.
if anyone needs examples of how much there charging just give me a shout.

also the little beasties seem to have backed off a bit so fingerss crossed all the hard work with the bug stermination may hold off for this grow then out with bleach.

Nice to know!

not in ireland in holland...oh yeah this was my first grow got the seeds for different bags of weed my friends collected over the last while, will post more pics thats just one of the three.....

also need help with bending a flowering plant (bubblegum) without shocking it, its been about 3-4weeks now ....

If you train it using one of those plant clips near the top with garden wire attached to tie that down a few inches lower each day. If you put a ring of wire around your pot, you can tie the training wires to that. This way you can train all the branches out, splayed so that the buds along the eventually horizontal stems grow upwards from it. There are some fantastic pics of dozens of colas on one plant only a couple of feet tall. If you take your time with it, you wont shock the plant. And if you break a stem by mistake, you'd be amazed how often it repairs itself and comes round.

3 or 4 weeks, though, I'd say that its a fairly thick central stem if you havent topped it. The thicker the stem, the less you can bend it over at any one time, so it might take a while...

Hope this helps.

Alright Luc, your dead right about the rip-off prices for grow kit here, dunno about dig itself, but any of the ones I've been in are charging silly money.

If you can have gear shipped from the UK, then Grotec seem to offer better prices even than other UK outfits, and they have a huge range of stuff, and shipping to Ireland is dirt cheap (10-15 euro for all the kit youd need for a home grow.)

Have a look at grotec.co.uk, e.g. flood and drain tables, canna nute prices, lights, all seem to be cheaper than other places, and the guy Ady who mans the phones is sound.
