The Lost Art of Foliar Feeding

I never started feeding again. The plants were just to happy without it. I spray em here and there,but I'm starting to flower so it wouldn't have mattered to much. But I won't be doing it in future grows. Peace.

In a couple hours, I'm starting daily foliars of 1 tsp Ginormous, 1/2 tsp FloraBlend, 1/4 tsp Pure Neem Oil and a few drops of Hormex in a few hours.

They're getting a couple more hours of darkness than usual 'tonight', from then they're into 12/12.

I will be foliar feeding through the first week, maybe two or three, depending on when I see 4-5 1'' or longer pistils in each site

Their pistils currently range anywhere from 1/2'' to 1'', depending on strain.

I'll let you know how it goes :)

Pictures of their veg. growth as of 12 days ago are on my journal.

Since then I've tied their most of their new growth and will post new pics soon!

I thought one typically stops foliars into the 2nd or 3rd week at LATEST, since mold can grow much more readily on flowers than leaves.

I ran a 12ml dose of "grow" basenutrient, 6ml dose of Hygrozyme, .5 tsp bio bud , in 2 gal phd aird tap water ( basicayl .5 dosages across board, i did leave out the supplement nutrients for this test run) . applied mix with a 360 hand sprayer targeting a fine mist onto the bottoms or the foliage, seems like they liked it they look nice im hoping it will be a significant gain, might step up dosage nex round . .

ugh... I've got a mite issue, but they're mostly gone from most of my plants.

I do foliars of pure Neem Oil emulsified in FloraBlend, Ginormous, and Molasses.

It's a nutritive foliar that kills the mites on contact, while pure Neem is also a systemic pesticide, meaning it is absorbed by the plant and used within newly-forming cells, so when the mite or whatever it is, takes a bite, they die from a powerful hormone disruption, causing them to forget to molt, reproduce, eat, etc.

It looked like a straight holocaust after I did it the first time.

They haven't come back on most of my plants, and the ones that still have signs were not generously sprayed.

So I'm having another go.

well, its indoor, and i had a strait infestation. Lady bugs couldn't begin to control the problem.

i've heard of neem. I may try that on my next upcoming batch.

I had a severe infestation as well that came out of NOWHERE (well, it was the heat, but still); they built webbing in the tops overnight.

I was terrified.

But the trusty Neem has never done me wrong.

Not only does it have the physical pesticidal properties of an oil, coating the plant and any bugs on it, but it also disrupts anything that eats it/lives on it.

A grasshopper placed with a leaf of lettuce treated with conventional pesticide took a bite and died.

A grasshopper placed with a leaf of lettuce treated with Neem sat there for 3 weeks and starved to death, not even harming the leaf.

Another amazing plant!

Just make sure you emulsify it with something relatively acidic (not so much as to burn), so the oil emulsifies and doesn't just stick to the inside of your spray bottle. You can use a few drops of NATURAL liquid soap (Dr. Bronner's, Seventh Generation, etc.), or an acidic liquid nutrient like FloraBlend. Make sure you shake the bottle up every few sprays.

ya i had webs on all tops as well , the ladybugs are veracious ! not a web in site in two days flat ! and mine is indoor as well , waiting another week for mantids to hatch :)

wow! ladybugs controlled it in TWO DAYS with webs on ALL tops?

do they seriously eat the webbing?

that's my problem now, the mites are on their way out, but their webbing is probably choking my foliage and catching all sorts of superfine particles I don't want on my Ladies.

im not sure if they eat it or if they drag it off crawling all over while hunting and devouring mites

yeah man, one ladybug can eat 50 mites a day. they are badass. think of that in human equivalency , how much pizza wood that be? man i got the munchies.

quick question - i hit up walmart the other day - got super thrive, and some insecticide. is it possible, to mix the two, so i can insecticide while foliar feeding?
