The never-ending battle for humidity or temperature

I live in a very cold climate and it gets difficult at times to re-create a tropical environment indoors when there is constantly a foot or two of snow outside.

I have to use a space heater in my bedroom to keep the temperature around the 80 degree mark. It's easy to do but the problem is that every time I get the heat to where it should be, the humidity drops about just as much as the heat rises. Obviously the heater is drying out the air but without it the room would be too cold. If my temp is at 80, my humidity uses drops to 25. If I bring my humidity up to 40 by leaving the heater off for a little while and using some buckets of water, the temp typically drops down to 65.

Does anyone have an idea for a way around this? I'm sure there's something I'm missing.

go get a humidifier, they steam the water and will raise the humidity no problem, the problem you have is because air holds different amounts of water at different temps, humidifiers can be found at any drug store and run from about $20-$40 or so, i got the cheap one and it works killer, 25% is low enough that it will cause problems for you

Just the answer I was looking for. Cheap and effective lol. Thank you, I actually saw a humidifier at my local Wal-Mart for twenty bucks. ^__^
I'll go pick that up today!

Place a pie tin container of water above the heat, make your own humidity. Use the $20 bucks to give molasses to your Babies.

An electric skillet, just add water, you got a fucking sauna!! 80 temp, 60 humidity, key. Lay off the fans, a little is ok.

The humidifier is your best bet! You can lower your temps a little too. I would say 75 degrees is optimum for growth. I live where its hot most of the time and wish I could keep my temps abound 75. I have to settle for 80 most of the year and 82-83 in the summer. A little warm for hydro but it works. Good luck with your grow show!
