i started 2 bag seeds and the male, which i chopped, showed its "balls" about a week before the other showed pistals. i have read many threads where the same thing has happened so it might be a good sign.

I started 12/12 almost two weeks ago and aside from the one that got torched, the other tow haven't shown anything.. Does it normally take that long?

yea thats normal kirashiro,
a plant will not show sex untill it's mature, there isnt really any way to speed that up. its all about the genetics ya know, it'll show when its ready =]
females do generally take longer to show sex tho =]

i have started my new grow so i now have 2 grows going on right now, the old is almost ready for havest and the new one, the seeds just went into the ground. only took 48 hours for the tap roots to pop, the other two are still germing, heres the link to the new grow for anyone that wants to follow along. quick nute question guys. I just got the fox farm nutes in the mail and I'm used to some ghetto MG nutes that I was using. On these new nutes the NPK ratio is 6-4-4 and on my ghetto nutes its like 24-4-12. So should I use more of these new nutes to equal it out?

no just go as it recomends on the bottle, the "24-4-12, and 6-4-4" are ratios. full strength of either is about the same IMO.
and plus you dont wanna burn em, less is ALWAYS more =]

Right on man thats pretty much what I was thinking....plus on this grow I wanna go with less nutes and just let the plants do their thing. thanks for the reassurance though

Start out at about half of the recommended amount. I have found that nute makers tend to try and get you to use more than you need. You can always add more nutes, but is impossible to unkill a plant.

GOOD NEWS! Busted out my mag glass today while adjusting my lights and this one is a GIRL!

EDIT: Hahaha forgot to flip the pic. Also i've been noticing little gnats crawling on my pots lately.. They don't seem to be bothering the plants that i've noticed, but still annoying. Any way to get rid of them without harming the plant? Can they harm the plants?

congrats, once you see the difference in person, its easy to find the males early. good job!!

and for the gnats, if you put a small bowl of vinegar in your grow space all the gnats will swarm to it and drown themselfs. just change it out every morning or so. beer works good to if u dont have vinegar

I wish i had the space for a set up like that..Though I think the wife would kill me if that showed up one day.

you could look into some DWC setups tho man, you can make a kick ass lil coffee can setup.
actually i found you can make some pretty small flood/drain or drip systems too.
