This is a great thread. I am using H&G Aqua Flakes plus Drip Clean and things are going well. I found out the hard way that H&G nutes are very very HOT so I burned my little ladies early on, but they are recovering nicely. Others have told me go 50% on the nutes and that's what I am doing and they look pretty good. I think I may be able to go a little stronger but I don't want to burn them again.

I am thinking of adding Bud XL for the flowering stage and then going with the entire line for my next grow. Any thoughts?

If you can afford it, grab a new product every week. Or get the whole line up all at once. Shooting Powder and Roots Excelurator are major components in this line up.

I kind of wanted to see what the difference would be between using the bare essentials and then the entire lineup but maybe I should just go ahead and start getting the additives. What do you recommend the most for flowering? I was thinking Bud XL and Shooting Powder.

It's all equally important in my opinion. Well, at least the stuff that has been out, I still haven't had an opportunity to try out the new stuff. But Bud XL and Shooting Powder are definitely the two key components in flowering, but Top Booster sure does help.

Yep, the H&G nutrients are designed and balanced, it is really better to follow the program using the suggested additives. BudXL is a one of kind booster IMHO as instead of adding sugars like most products do this one makes the plant use what it has stored up.

This is great for several reasons, one being it is a more natural way to get the most out of your genetics, and 2nd and most important it helps to get rid of stored up nutrients which makes for a VERY clean final product.

H&G is for sure one of the best nutrient systems out there for deep water culture systems.

Great info, thanks! I will pick up some BudXL and Shooting Powder and report back on the results.

hey everyone, I just started using H&G cocos a/b (switched from canna a/b) and I think I may be over feeding. It seems that 7ml per gallon in flower has been more than enough with tap water, especially with some of the plants in early flower. I just wanted to check with everyone and see if this sounds strange because its much lower than what I used with canna. Also using drip clean and cannas pk 13/14 occasionally. Also some of the plants are handling it worse than others, do you think I should drop down to 5ml per gallon? It seems like such a low amount. None are sativas really, mostly all indica dom.

What would the average dose be for plants in flower using tap water? I'm think my tap is about 250 ppm.

I don't know about Cocos A&B but the Aqua Flakes A&B runs very, very hot. I start at 50% strength and slowly go up from there. I burned my plants badly with 100% strength early on. I have heard others say that they usually stay about 50-75% strength and no more but that's mostly with Aqua Flakes. I am guessing Cocos run just as strong.

Harvest is a couple of weeks away in soil. I was thinking about only flushing for the last week, I usually flush for two, and I usually run 15 galling of plain water through each plant but this is a pain in the balls.

Will the quality be just as good if I only feed them water and don't actually flush with 15 gallons of water the last week?

Whats everyone do?

Have you been using Drip Clean the whole time?

HI, I believe Canna Pk 13/14 is like shooting powder in that it is Hot. On the HG schedule (a must read) it has us at 7.5 ml coco/aqua along with Shooting Powder, But the plant is ready for it at week 7,8,9. What week are you in?
I would stick to the schedule and then alter, if needed, after a run or two. Go to the HG web site and get a free sample pak from a rep. Tell them you are thinking of using HG and understand they offer sample packs (u pay shipping $13.00) Oh I am in the US but think the samples are available all over. Ha tell them you use Canna now, that's a clincher. Or tell them as you told us...

I haven't tried Amino Boost yet by hear it dramatically makes the plant like a fortress ( balls of steal around a super-crop, overnight ). My source only uses 1 ml per gallon all the way through and the difference was well worth the expense. Love to hear on this site more about Amino Boost.

Also check and see exactly what your 250 ppm tap water is composed of.

Hope some of this helps. http://www.house-garden.us/nutrient-calculator/

My hydro guys told me great things about the Amino Treatment and I will be picking that up as soon as I can afford it. I can't wait to use the whole H&G lineup, but damn that shit is pricey. Def worth it but still pricey.

I completed my House and Garden Grow using there full line.I feel that house and garden can deliver everything they claim.I spent quite a penny on a Coco drain to waste and all the supplements. The Coco A and B is cheap itself. However I regret to inform you, I cant say that house and garden Is the way to go in coco drain to waste;too many gallons are used trough the grow.I believe House and Garden Is only cost effective in a recirculating system of some sort.:peace: love and ...

I have been using drip clean the whole time in flower and for last 2 weeks of veg.
H&G says to flush for the last 2-3 days but my hydro store guys said to do the whole last week. Anyone else care to chime in on flush time when using Drip Clean the whole time? I was planning on just doing the last week, but if I can get away with just the last 3 days will that increase yield or potency?

Hey thanks a lot for the info. I actually have shooting powder also, but havent used that yet. I only use the canna pk 13/14 through the 4th week also. I am seeing this problem with most of my plants, veg and flower. My temps have been between 69 and 89, so I dont know if that could have anything to do with it, but I'm assuming the only thing will cause the leaves to claw is overfeeding. I have cut it down very low, like 5.5ml for my C99 that is at 4 weeks and she is starting to come around. 6 was even to high for her, so I'm backing off and hoping that makes the difference.

About the amino acids, I wonder if it works similar to silica, if so I'd go with the cheaper stuff, but if it works a lot better, Id be interested to check it out.

Thanks

I flush for two days using DC all the way through. I, nor my friends can taste any salts or nutes, I like giving my plants all the goodies right up to the end.

I'm growing a food hog (Jack Flash) so it could be completely different with an Indica (C99 is indica right?). I would search C99 reviews/grow and get in a current forum. I'll bet C99 is a light eater. Did you say that you were on a Canna schedule before? With this strain?

Regarding Amino Boost. My source (ok my hydro store owner guy) says that he thought AB would be like Pro-tek. He swears that the difference is noticeable and adds that he uses 20 different things in his soup and for something to be obviously noticeable is of note. He gave me a 250ml for 50 so I will try.
