The Opiates Thread

I started this thread to answer some questions and dispell myths about pain killers and heroin.
First off, I have been using opiates (oxy, morphine, Fentanyl, Dilaudid, Opana, ect) and heroin for 11 years. I don't claim to know everything but I do know a little.
The first myth I want to dispell is that the poppies that grow in America are opium-free. This is a lie. Some poppies contain more than others, but they all have some opium. The seeds in spice jars seem to be the best. Go to your grandmothers house and slice her poppies, they will produce very potent, very smokable opium.
Secondly, heroin/opiates aren't toxic in responsible doses. Infact, opiates are no more toxic than marijuana. Humans have ingested opiates for tens of thousands of years. They have very little to no impact on the liver, kidneys, or brain. It didn't start killing people and ruining lives until prohibition was enacted. This drives the price up and ensures the product is unregulated. Before prohibition, heroin/morphine could be purchased at any pharmacy at a resonable price, ensuring the users safety and allowing them to live a decent life. Now-a-days the price has skyrocketed, forcing users to focus thier energy on doing nothing but getting money and getting high. This yo-yo effect of constantly going from being high to withdrawling not only is very stressfull for the addict, but promotes overdosing.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I also want anyone with experience with opiates to join in. Knowledge is Power. For more info on growing opium poppies, read Opium for the Masses.

I've never tried any opiates, but I've heard that the withdrawal symptoms are pretty bad. I was looking to buy some Kratom, and I'm just wondering, if I use it regularly how bad will they really be if I were to stop cold turkey?

ive been using opiates for a few years, never smoked anything made from poppys and ive never shot up because im a little girly girl when it comes to needles. i have tried the real stuff but far perfer pills over real heroin. i admit ive had a pill problem a few times but the phisical withdrawrals could be curved by sugar and caffene and mental ones just require strong will, and disassocitaing your self with drug dealers and users to eliminate temptation. i remember the guy i got pills from would call me while i was trying to quit, i would yell at him and call him all sorts of names and shit, just hoping hed hate me and not call me back. evry time ive relapsed he allways wants to sell no matter what ive said

all i can say is have fun while it lasts, when it controlls your life, stay the fuck away

Kratom isn't a true opiate. Some addicts use it to help with withdrawl but withdrawls from it are minimal, like giving up caffeine. And as much as I appreciate the response, Kaleo, try to keep the dire warnings to a minimum. We all know opiates are addictive, it's old news. There are just as many people out their warning you about the dangers of the gateway drug marijuana. Scare tactics aren't helpful. No one in this forum got here by behaving themselves.

Seeing As How Early, Not Very Clever, Homo Sapiens Left Africa Only 50,000 Years Ago It's Plausible But Not Probable That Opium, The Latex Released From Lacerated Immature Opium Pods Were Smoked Tens Of Thousands Of Years Ago. The Earliest Known Use Of Opium Was In Fact Not Even 10,000 Years Ago. It Was 6200 Years Ago. Found In Neolithic Settlements Is Switzerland. Just My Two Cents On That Subject....

Not a fan of smoking opium. Maybe it was just the quality, but it didn't do nearly as much as pills, ie. roxicodone.

I unknowingly took some fentanyl in an ecstasy pill once. I threw up on my pants, because I did not even feel myself about to throw up, it just shot out of my mouth.:spew: Thats about the only experience Ive had w/ opiates, well besides the codeine in vicodin.

Codeine Is Its Own Drug, Often Called The Most Widely Used Drug In The World. Vicodin Is Hydrocodone And Paracetamol.

Yes, the only other opiate I have encounter is the codein that is present in vicodin. I have never even done straight codeine...what about this don't you understand. Would this be clearer for you:

The only other opiate I have encountered is the codeine in vicodin(which also contains aceteminophen(which has nothing to do with anything so is pointless to mention))

Well I Think Whats Confusing Me Is You Are Saying "The CODEINE In Vicodin" But It's Hydrocodone Which Is Derived From Codeine AND Thebaine So If Your Trying To Justify Saying Your Taking Codeine Because Hydrocodone Because Its Made With Codeine Than Why Not Add Thebaine To That List Smarts.

Any drug that makes you puke...isn't really my cup of tea. But I judge not...as long as you aren't ripping off your friends and family.
