yeah, i agree, but it's major news here because it's right in my back yard, but i agree, the news the past several days has been pretty much non stop pope news since he's landed..
the best part of being the pope is it really doesn't matter who you are, or were before becoming the pope, once you're the pope, you're the pope.. kind of cool though..

the president has come into town a few times over the past few years, and the road closings and crap around that are no where near as big as they are for the pope..
i'm honestly blown away by how big this thing is.. guess i kind of thought people had moved on a bit from all of that religion, but it looks like i'm wrong, yet again..

yeah, that's the way i look at him too, and being an atheist, i don't really look at priests in the best of light either..
like i said though, i'm kind of impressed by the amount of people that they say they're expecting to come out and hear this guy talk, i heard something like 1.5 million.. this is the north east, not down south some where, lol..

i was reading online that they're, L and I, are stopping people who make a living from working one of those food carts or even a small stand that sells t-shirts and do da's are not allowed to sell anything within the papal block.. they were told that the city are bringing in their own company, aramark, and they will be the only ones allowed to sell food and drink inside the designated areas.. mind you, these are people who have been eeking out a modest living on the same corners for years and year, some of them even spanning generations of families..
