The struggle is real.

I have 6 seedlings that are loving life and growing strong in some solo cups. Problem is my tent and wattage only really have space for 2 of them to make it.

MY ISSUE- They're bag seeds! I don't want to just toss 4 of them to find out that the 2 I kept are males.
MY QUESTION- If I let them grow to show sex in the solo cups, will it stunt their growth when I delete the 4 and transplant the 2 into 3 gallon pots? I'm assuming the roots will be bound by then.

What would you do?

Throw them all under 12 /12 right now until you see the first signs of sex. Figure out what you got, toss the males, then put the females back into veg (18/6). It might take them a week or so to really start showing vegetative growth again, but a least you know what your working with.

What is your long term plan? Are you just doing a one off or planning on cloning and carrying on? If it's a one off thing then can you pot up to a smaller pot and run all 6 till you can sex them? It's a tough one if you only have room for two. What size of tent and light?

It's a 2x3 5ft high tent. My light is currently a Mars reflector 96. Pulling about 210 watts from the wall. I'm just growing for personal use and the love of green thumbing.

They're under 18-6 right now. Really young, I'm talking first set of true leaves are starting to make the first shoots for the second.

You should be able to sex before culling them I would think, I used to do a complete grow in a 3x3 area with 6 but yup it got busy lol

Or you could pot them all up from the solo cups into 1 litre pots and let them go in that for a bit. About 30 to 35 days from planting the germed seed they will show sex in preflowers.

This way takes about the same amount of time as flowering and then revegging... 6 of 1 half dozen of the other...

If they were a little bigger I would say clone them, then put the clones under 12-12 to see sex. But the slight up-pot and waiting would be the best at this point.

I would just grow them out in smaller pots, seeds from hermi's always turn female's for me I haven't had any bad luck yet, I wouldn't do 12/12 from seed unless you don't expect much out of the yield, I would veg them for at least 2 weeks if you can, but grow them in 32 or 44oz cups/pots and if need to you can always transplant them.

I would grow them out too, better safe than sorry and you won't compromise your yield.. maybe 1 gallons would allow for enough root space. IMO. Or you could just cut the bottoms of the solos and place on top of another plant to allow room for the roots to grow downward. Good luck!!! I have 2 bags end that just popped and I'm contemplating the very same situation. I've been 50% lucky, figures.

Picked up some Slightly larger pots. They're probably half gallon. I'll transplant them in a few days when it's time to water. They're all starting to spout off the second set of true leaves. By that time they'll be rdy
