Just heard On TV that Petreas is going to recommend the troops stay untill spring, any surprises here? I thought not. With 50,000 troops on Prozac, this ought to add a few thousand more to the drug. What are we going to call those poor souls, War Zombies? They'll most likely be stuck on medication for the rest of their lives.

Well you won't find this in any newspaper or on TV, But my friends nephew that came home on leave and begged to not go back told his mother that they pumped him full of prozac and shipped him back a week before he died. He also told her that the medic told him that upwards of 50,000 troops in Iraq were pumped up on prozac to calm them down, thus, war zombies. He said that speed was readily available to keep you sharp on missions, you know, the hunt for IEDs.

you think the guys who's lives revolve around klling should decide who and what and when they kill...

maybe we should let the prison owners decide who should goto jail... then we'd all be in jail..

it is time you rework your VIEW...

Hi Gk, see you got hooked on politics, JK, Have an intresting question to ask you, If the killing is against the soul, how could generations of samurai tryed to achive enlightenment through bushido (the way of the varior),in fact many zen masters were samurai?

No need to "rework" my view, GK. I DO have an answer for your question though:

The "owners" of the prisons are you, me, and all the other citizens of this country. As those "owners," we delegate our responsibilities to bureaucrats and other government officials, like the cops, District Attorneys, grand juries, judges and those who run the prisons. Through those entities, we the "owners" ARE deciding who should go to jail and who should not. This is a POSITIVE thing, GK ... after all, one of the few legitimate functions of government is to protect the rights & property of the citizens, no?

The Samurai in my opinion could not reach enlightenment, they worked for a master, and the whole system which the samurai was based was on one's honor and not on a religious belief, They did not adhere to the teachings of Bodi Dharma.

Doesn't your explanation go against your "preconcieved view" of allowing the military to decide who to MURDER and who to let live.. according to this method you have so elequently and articulately described (above).. it should be YOU and ME who decide who to kill and who not to kill..

When ONE becmes sigularly focused they experience "enligtenment" (samdhi)..

IT does not matter what the activity is... it can be eating.. fooking.... breathing (although breathing is very special ACTIVITY in iteself) smoking weed, jerking off, fighting, knitting... whatever

Usually this singular focus can only happen through great great great practice and discipline, or or or or or NEAR death/ fighting for your life / accepting immenant death experiences.... a surrender (of ego)!!!

EITHER WAY, the MIND must STOP working and something we'll CALL AWARENESS, shifts from the chatter of the mind to the PRESENT moment.. or LIGHT... this is ZEN..

i don't know what is or is not legotimate .....

I have never had anybody do anything to me that I did not finally releasize, I WAS responsible for... after all, it happened to ME... it is me who can either trip or accept it...

My moments are so precius to me... i wouldn't trade 10 fresh breaths for a home that needs defending from thugs that live 10,000 miles and across a vast ocean from me...

Right ... and again, we delegate the methods of our defense to the military. I don't know how to fly an F-16, or jump out of a plane at 10,000 feet ... and you probably don't know how either.

I believe you are assuming that all killing is "murder." Self defense is not murder, its a legal right.

There is no self defense on Iraqi soil, we invaded the country, we are the offenders. And to Cut him off at the knees, your right, WMDs was a myth as was everything the United States used to justify the war in Iraq.
