I,ve read that Human urine is a good source of Nitrogen. What do you all think about using it to feed plants?
I've used it, diluted, occasionally. Not long term, and not enough to be able to say anything as far as its efficacy. I think it's probably difficult to determine what all is going into it, so it's difficult to say what you're going to get out of it. However, pee on your citrus trees, they'll love it. :D

+rep to Ohsogreen for always being so damn helpful.

The guy with the PLant Tonic did not respond to me, so I was wondering if you would be interested in selling me a bottle :D

OhSo, not trolling you, but the odor of guano is in the air. And... there is an asshole nearby. Thats where guano originates, does it not? Give the 3 LBS credit where credit is due. They did the work. Stop stealing their work. Just repost it. They wanted to share it with everyone.
I KNOW you know.... Get it?
To anyone who reads this post. Please read the Three Little Birds, Guano Guide. You can google it if you like. And please do. It is well written, and contains the EXACT info that OhSo is spewing here.

Oh..Early...do you ever wake up on the right side of the bed ? You know when I was young, my Dad taught me how to fish. I taught my kids the same thing. Now, I don't try to take credit for having invented fishing.
.
The questions I've answered about Bat Guano on this site were meant to help. The info is nothing new. People have been using Bat Guano for thousands of years. So, I'm sure if I Google Searched it, their would be like 1,250,000 hits at least, pertaining to how to use it - from tens of thousands of knowledgable people.
.
I see once again, you have nothing to add...but negative comments & hateful thoughts.....
.
I encourage everyone who reads this to " Hit " the scales of Justice on Early's Post - and give him the negative rep he so deserves.
.
Maybe after he gets, say 100 negative rep points - they'll boot him off this site. Since, he never has anything good to say.... And I almost never use the word never.. Early... but it seems to fit you...

I never gave you negative rep.
Not even a call for so.
The truth is exposed in the light.
Feeling uneasy? I KNOW you know...Get it?
I STILL KNOW you do. Period.
You took the bait. And Swallowed.
I have been here for a while. I dont post a lot.
But in the end, the odor of gunao... is still that... Guano. Period. And its cheap! (Less than 18.00 a Lb.) Way less. But thats in another thread.
Getting under your skin, I feel.
Just a little bit. Huh?
Getting awfully defensive, arent you? A rat backed into the corner.

If you are paying Rollitup.org so you can PUSH 18.00 a Lb. Guano then fess up. I hope they wouldnt do such a thing. And I believe that they would not. I LOVE this website. And I belong here as well as you. Thats no guano.
If you are then, well... get the hell on.
KEEP IT REAL. Friend.
I know I do.
OhSoGreen is the prophet of Guano. That the best thing Ive said about anyone. Ever.
Best Wishes.

Early, what's the deal here? Ohso isn't putting this stuff out as his own proprietary information, he's just putting it out there. How many others repeat what they've read somewhere else here? Be sure to include me among them. You're literally worried about the price of bat shit? Honestly, this thread, to me, is more about what the different types of poo are that can be well-used by growers, and how to use them. And I didn't have to buy the book you mentioned to learn it, Ohso learned it for me and offered that up. Is he infringing on your intellectual property, is that the deal?

If the problem is what he's saying, then what kind of trouble should someone like myself expect when I give out fishkeeping or reefkeeping information that I gleaned from a book or article? I'd be in a HELL of a lot of trouble if that were the problem.

I won't give out a negative rep, someone has to be really bad for me to do that and so far I haven't yet (though I have come close, but the guy is infamous for his method of ad hominem). However, if you've got information that adds to the knowledge base, why not share it? You say you've been a member for a long time, does that mean you've been growing for a while? If so, why hardly post? Why not share your information? Unless, of course, you're writing a book. ;)

Thanks .. Seamaiden.. Maybe we can get this thread back on track.
.
This thread is about animal manure, bat guano, seabird guano, worm castings & such.
How to use them composted, straight, or in a tea. What works & what doesn't.
.
Please make your questions & comments about these things.....

Thanks Ohso. I'm trying to make my plants work, but next time i'll do it right and compost all the good stuff that I have right at my fingertips. What is the best way to compost all that stuff together? can I just like dig a hole and let it sit?

I do my composting in a homemade bin - made from a food grade 55 gallon barrel. It makes turning it easy. You don't even need that. I put a couple of hotlinks for you to check out. They go into detail on how to do it.

Excellent thread, this is going in my favorites. I do have a question about foliar feeding with compost teas. I've got some chickens and have been composting their manure for the last three years along with the wheat straw and pine shavings that I put in the coop, along with yard and kitchen waste. I recently made an aerated tea with five gls. of non chlorinated water two shovel fulls of six month old compost, five tbls of unsulfered molassas, and three tbls of endo/ecto Mycorrhizae. It's been bubbling for about three days with a good head of foam spilling over the side of the bucket. I'm wondering if this is to hot to use as a foliar spray? Should I dillute it? I am in the second week of flowering outdoors in 10 gl. pots in full sun.
