The ULTIMATE Flowering Spectrum

Aren't there a larger variety of Phosphor coatings being played with now? For example, the implementation of REEs into the phsophor mix, creating a wider array of possible spectra.
Excited electrons are excited over that development (especially in the 4f shell).
Yeh wicked coffee mister heckler...

There are several white only led grow threads on RIU, including my own (for the most part)
I know you are the leader of "white power," but have you tried adding 660nm reds to your white only grows yet? I'm currently on a new 12/12 batch with a 1000w Hortilux Blue + 128w Red LEDs. Switching to the Ultimate Spectrum half way through flower to see if the results from last time hold.

Yes, for 3+ years with my UFO 90 and 2 full HOT5 grows with UVL 660. I'm not sold on the UVL, or the UFO 660 diodes.

Just finishing a new strain from BrandX, a polycross and have 5 clones. 2 are under the HOT5 now, the others will go into the led tent (once I harvest Phoenix by Friday).

Clones are in a makeshift tent under WW & NW household LEDs.

NW + WWs (~10% NW) to finish- but no ufo, no 660s.

^^^^^^^^^FYI the best growth I've ever gotten from T5's was from using 2 UVL 660's paired with 1 Coral Wave and 1 TrueLumen which are both deep blue T5's.

I'm not sold on the 660's either ONLY because half of them went bad after only a week of use. UVL really cheaper out on the production side. Pretty sure they outsourced them overseas. Doesn't justify the cost. Asses.

In other words 2 red and 2 blue. This is for veg however. Keeps 'em super short, super stocky and is a great light mixture for preparing plants before they go into 12/12.

I wanted to put Hyroot's theory to the test that "Coral Waves cause flowering no matter what the light schedule."

I have been running my 4-lamp fixture at 24hr light with those 4 tubes(2 uvl 660, 1 coral wave, 1 TrueLumen) for 2 months and have had no issues with pre-mature flowering. In fact, this has been the best veg light to this day for many strains. I've never seen plants grow so healthy, lush, green, and perky before.

I really like blue heavy spectrums for vegging.

I have a question, just added two 2700K 30W CFLs to my grow

DSC01593.jpg

basicly did it for 3 reasons

to get a little 2700K in there
to cover the corners better
to provide a bit of side lightning as the LEDs don't spread out the light much

now my question, was wondering, if it would be a good idea to get some UVB bulb`s and switch em in later flowering ? as I read some where that UVB light tricker Trichomes ?

and if so, what kind of UVB should I look for ? is them in pet shop`s for reptiles useable ?

anybody with some experience that could make my search more easy and help me understand the effect of UVB light ?

Slip

EDIT: would sumthing like this do ?

10,0 compact flourecent 26W 10% UVB and 30% UVA

This past grow, I used Coral Wave throughout the veg and most of the flowering stage. It did not cause premature flowering. Perhaps it was something else that Hyroot did not account for.

Using DM Gold, when my plants were ~ 5 weeks old, they easily handled 500ppms, but when I bumped from ~250 to 500ppm with Hydro-Research V&B, within a few days I saw preflowers on all 6 clones. I cut ppms back to 400, all plants reverted to veg.

That will only be true if there is not a sufficient amount of 620-660 nm to balance the light spectrum properly. If you run Coral Waves without enough red and deep reds during veg expect trouble.

^^ Not in my experience, but I ran just ONE CW + 3-5 other bulbs, no heavy reds in veg, but I did mix Quantum Flower/UVL AquaSun, but those aren't deep red

still your ratio of Coral Wave Far Red, to red in general is low, which was my main point. not so much that it had to be specifically deep red, just needs to kick the Pr\Pfr Balance.

I think the coral waves are only good for the first 3 weeks of flower . after that I would swap some flora suns in
