at 12 bucks near my house it's kinda dumb not to buy ph down.Bottle i got has lasted about 8-9 months now.Think most people add the lime to their soil to stabilize the ph not sure they use it to adjust but hey if it works, there's always more than one way to skin a Obama supporter :bigjoint:

I use vinager on my babies it seems to have worked to lower the ph. Should I expect any harmful side affects to my soil? I should just stoping being lazy and spend the 11$ on some ph down .

Ed rosenthal says you can use ascorbic acid not only to bring your pH down but also to remove chloramine. thats what i have been using and its been great. natural, and if i feel like i need some vitamin C, i just put some in my water!!!

Sup nerds, Try citric acid for ph down it only takes a pinch, also baking soda for ph up. My water is always a 6.5- 7(yes i still check it every time i use water) Yes Im lucky. Glad you brought that up Sub(about checking ph of water). This is something alot of new growers dont do.A ph test kit only costs a few dollars and is well worth it. To me ph pens are more trouble than their worth unless your into hydro. Also i always use distilled water for sprouting seedlings it cheap, the ph is 7, and its very clean with no chloramine.(avaliable at your local walmart for under a dollar a gallon) Also use it for (cooking) supersoil. Peace

If your in Soil or soilless mix, i'd think you'd want your ph at 6.0-6.5, ideally 6.3 on the dot.

I'm pretty informed about the business brother and I have spoken to many of the top breeders in the world and my math is DEAD on.
Every time a seed moves it doubles in price. You think Farmers get the lions share of the super market prices. Your sadly mistaken if you believe the farmers are the ones making the coin.
Shanti became a retailer a few years back and IMO his product suffered for it.
Sub
Thanks for the awesome reply Sub. I'm 49 years young and have been sproutin beans since I was 16 (told my parents it was a science experiment til my sister ratted me out). I've learned a ton, put the hydro in storage and am a couple weeks away from tryin out my super soil. Even simple stuff like using an eye dropper for ph downing or the shoe boxes for cloning. Ive seen every episode... Keep 'em comin!

really man! its Awesome he does these vids. the shoe boxes for cloning saved my cuttings!!! no thanks to waste of money at hydro store on a clone dome & tray that didn't fit properly(even though purchased in same packaging)! Sub is a life saver, in more ways then one!

A buck, buck 50 for seeds? Was about half as much as I thought, thought you were selling 'em for $2-$3 each. Usually there is a 3-5 fold mark up on basically everything you buy people. A third of the price is product, the second third is overheads and the remaining third is cream.

Has Dave at Weeden ever considered growing a green manure cover crop over winter? Clover could be sown at the start of harvest and it would suppress all weeds without the use of herbacides, increase organic matter, earthworms and beneficial microbes, protects the topsoil from erosion, reduces the compaction of the soil AND fixes nitrogen into the soil. When spring comes, chop and drop. It will act as a mulch, reducing the amount of evaporation. Seems win win to me...all the manure, supersoil and compost could be added to the top and the worms will spread it through for him...it's the 'do nothing' approach to farming coined by Masanobu Fukuoka.

Just saw that he had grass growing in between his grow areas and seeing bare earth just nearly gave me a heart attack. lol

Basically the same for most products mate. It's not like marijuana seeds are getting a rough deal, just the same deal...which still sucks.

Just be wise with where you throw your money...

Pretty ridiculous... compare the price of seeds that you can clone just about forever to the cost of buying it. Seeds wins and it's not even close in any way. Stop whining - be glad you can get seeds and enjoy it while you can. It won't be long before big brother shuts it down unless policies change. Then you'll be bitching about how you can no longer pay these prices. Keep your clones cuz it's coming.

A 1000% mark up from developer to distributor is a lot for most any niche.
And your point is that either sub/tga or the seed bank should only make a minimal profit to barely get by while taking all the risk on their illegal (in the eyes of the US gov't) business??? Do you want your dealer to not mark up his shit too while he takes the risk of jailtime?? Let's keep it real here. I hope Sub is making substantial money off this -- I know he does it for the love of the plant and don't know how much of his motivation is the dollar aspect, but I don't really care because I hope he's making some good money off of it while he's taking the risk of being in the government's crosshairs to be the next potential marc emery. You gotta think beyond the surface of your pocketbook -- which FYI even the most expensive ripoff seeds if they provide good mj are way less than buying the amount produced from a dealer or if you're lucky enough to live in a med state your dispensary. Frankly I would pay a LOT more for good seeds. Seriously how cheap do you have to be to be bitching about seed markup???? If the seeds are good it's worth it, if not they're not -- that's all there is to it.

yeah...seeds are pretty cheap in my opinion. Especially for what you get. It's just a shame that the current market demands fem seeds...just glad that there are still some breeders out there that throw out such good genetics that there is no need for selling fem seeds to stay in business.

If you know that there is such a big mark up and that the breeders are getting screwed, then understand that every seed purchase made will ultimately shape the industry.

the seeds probably change hands more times then you think. most likely from tga to a distrubuter then to seedbanks.
