I am with you bro and I really do thank all of you for being so supportive and strain specific stuff will happen one day it will take some time for me to learn this new thing I'm doing and I really like to be the best at things and right now I have made a few mistakes
and I want to work with just what we have in line now until I learn/create a system of distribution. Keep in mind I am at the same time working over seas to set up a UK division as well so for now I am just working with some core designs.

I also want a bad ass JTR and Vortex jar :)

Sub
Sounds like you need more help to get things going! Good help is hard to find, and even harder to find good help you can trust in this business :)

I've been looking at Rezdog Chemdog plants and crosses and they look very nice. Who's working with this gear right now, who's known for the real deal Chemdog?

I know there's been some talk around the net suggesting rezdog and chemdog were one and the same. I can't comment on that, but I would like to make it known that Homeland Security monitors and investigates all funds leaving and arriving in the country.
I highly doubt they are one and the same based on my experiences with him (don't know him in person, just from reading/participating in his past conversations with others on OG/CW). I wouldn't put it past him to have put that rumor out there tho...

And you wonder why more women like MzJill dont frequent here?

What are you guys 12?

Man I'm on fire this week... hope my original joking question didn't offend you or MzJill subcool -- wasn't meant that way. My wife is hot and she doesn't mind it (I tend to say crazy shit for shock value or just because I'm in a happy blazed mood) -- one of the traits I love about her. I know MzJill doesn't post here but does she regularly read this thread or any of the other threads here at RIU? just curious -- I'm sure no one meant to offend anyone -- just being silly weed nerds here and not thinking about the lil ladies I'm sure since it's generally a sausage fest around here (quite the opposite of our flower rooms)

i am really glad to hear about genetic drift, or lack there of with healthy plants, in the past i would try to limit my cuts, or generations of a mom, good to hear i don't have to worry about that anymore!

Some Third Dimension seeds just popped threw soil as well as a few other strains for my outdoor grow in 2012. Now just waiting on my Vortex seeds to get here and I'll be all set. :hump:

Hey sub I was wondering what your take is on cloning clones? Say I grow a plant from seed clone it then clone that clone and so on down the line.
I'm not Sub, but I ran a Northern Lights clone from a clone, etc for appx 10 harvests a year for 3 years with no issues. No loss of potency, no herms. No genetic drift that I experienced. I do not have the experience or knowledge that Sub has, I just wanted to offer my own experience as anecdotal evidence.

Hope it helps!

Hey Weed Nerds!! I just popped 18 Tga beans, all 18 sprouted and one Chernyble has 3 leaves. Im searching for good solid mothers and am limited by plant count so I dont want to waste time/space. What would u do? Discard and start another bean or grow it out? Maybe the 3 leaf seeding pheno is crazy dank. Who knows?

Sub, first off love the show! Long time listener first time caller here.

Was thinkin last week that the best shows were the ones at weeden but figured you wouldnt be back there for a while guess i was wrong.

Some questions about breeding...

Would it be better to breed seeds of different strains as opposed to the same strain for example would you be better off if you cracked a pack of say jilly bean seeds and got a male and female and crossed them to get seeds. Or would it be better to take say a jilly bean female and a querkle male to breed with. What is the differences in the two is the any problems associated with either? The first example the m/f jilly beans would that be considered an IBL(in bred line)? I guess if you could talk a lil about people breeding your lines together. Im guessing your strains show hybrid vigor if you did a few generations do you lose that?

What if you crossed two strains with both having space dude as a dad. would the chances be greater to get a space dude dominant plant. Off the wall question which of your seeds produce the best space dude like female?

I would personaly grow it, seedling phase is too early i find to be throwing some out and the younger leaves don't come up with 5 points right away my ladies are still poppin out 3 leaves on the lower branches, they are tiny tho lol.

I love mutants. First of all just because they're intriguing, but who knows could have some interesting genetics in there :) you can always cull it later

Damn I have missed alot since I was last on lol! Stoney show today Sub! hash was dank as always. Yeah I agree with why Mz.Jill doesnt frequent the forums anymore but it would be cool to talk her into smoking out with you one show. I watch pretty much every episode with my wife so would be cool for her lol.
I dont think anyone mentioned that sick ass guitar rift Dave was playing when the show started behind his head. When it first came on I was ripping my bowl and I stopped in AW and was like damn he can play, then he pulled the guitar down and sat it down and the music was still going... I was like oh wtf! lol Good ole stoner jokes!
That dude was Sick on his guitar though!
But Everyone Stay Stoned! bongsmilie

extrememetal43-

what your talking about by crossing 2 of the same strain together like 2 jilly beans is called imbreeding, you can track inbreeding by looking for the F1,F2,F3 numbers which refers to how many times a strain has been crossed with siblings of the same cross. continuous inbreeding or selfing (self pollenation, S1,S2,S3 generations) results in a genetic bottle neck.

repeated imbreeding and selfing can have negative consequences like a reduction in ability to fight off infections, a loss in yeild, or a loss in potency. imbreeding can also bring out more desireable traits in a particular strain.

the good herb works best by breeding 2 completely different strains with different traits which is the F1 generation. after picking out the desired pheno you want, you either backcross to one parent which results in the a BC1 or BX1 generation, or you cross 2 F1 (inbreed) generation plants which results in the F2 generation.

it can be a little hard to grasp at first but once you know what you are looking at, it all makes sense. Jorge Cervantes has a book out called marijuana horticulture and he goes over a massive amount of information about breeding, growing and the history of the plant. the book is available online somewhere also.

i hope i did not make your eyes cross with all the letters and numbers, i know it can look like algebra sometimes

Hey I know sub and other on here can shed a lot more light then I can and have more experience on breeding and techniques then I do but from what I know and correct me ppl if i'm wrong is this, it would all depend on what your goal is.

Your first scenario M/F JB would generate more JB seeds with all the possible phenos , if u specificly or by shit luck utilized a Female with nothing but Homozygous Dominant traits and a male with the same exact Homozygous Dominant traits which to find these two is a hell of a journey you would isolate the traits you wanted to form a strand that breeds true from seed and be an IBL i think. But it's all about knowing your strains, their phenos, genos, dominant traits and rescessive traits then playing with their frequencies to obtain ultimate dankness. lol

Now lets say you want the JB Giggly high and the Querkle color and cross a female JB you found was an awesome giggly high with a male querkle which showed a lot of purple traits then your hoping that your off spring (F1) come out with some purple and a nice giggly high (again all pending what the dominant and recessive traits are) that would be your basic cross. Then you ca go off and backcross to Isolate traits you like and eventually form an IBL, hopefully by backcross F3 if you lucky.

There is a lot on the matter, I have currently only read a few books on the matter and I can tell you now i haven't even scratched the surface that's why I think having a thread with a direct link to an experienced breeder with a really natural style of breeding is perfect for clearing up questions newbies to breeding like myself would have.
