Here's a walking tour of the LA medical cup with this cool stoner chick I watch sometimes. These young tokers are all about the dabs aren't they?

I've never done a dab in my 29 years on this earth. When I was younger I had issues where my airways would close down in my sleep and I'd wake up gasping for air. Had to be rushed to the er once.I know what its like to sit there wondering if your ever gonna feel air in your lungs again. If it wasn't for what I've learned on here about dabs who knows what could of happened. To me.

Thanks for the shout out Subcool. Jessi here. Getting sick from a dab is a little embarrassing, but in the medical grey-area of BHO, I think it is important to get info like this out. Last week, I took a dab of some BHO that was not our own. It had a sour after-taste and was purged only by whipping to a budder without heat. This is not our method, and it seemed under-purged compared to what we usually smoke (which has never caused a problem). James didn't like the taste and thought it was harsh so he didn't smoke any after his first hit. I kept smoking it all night. My throat went from a dull ache to an unable to swallow sensation. I felt like I had something stuck in the back of my throat and when I looked in the mirror I was shocked to see what looked like a second tongue coming out from down my throat. I needed to lean forward to breathe properly and at times it felt like a flap was sealing off my airway. I went to the urgent care where they told me they were unable to handle my situation and would need to escort me to the adjacent Emergency Room for immediate treatment. I received a quick diagnosis at the Emergency Room because the doctor had seen an instance like mine a few weeks prior, although it was previously a very rare occurrence (BHO has just recently become popular in our state). I had Chemical Epiglottitis, which can be a life threatening situation. Luckily, mine was not! Chemical Epiglottitis is caused by irritants or hot vapors that pass by and damage the epiglottis (the flap the covers your wind pipes when you eat/drink). When this happens, the epiglottis swells and has the potential of closing off the wind pipe, making it impossible to breathe. I was lucky and the swelling stopped before I needed any serious medical interventions. For those less fortunate, a run in with Epiglottitis has the potential to send a patient into the ICU, emergency surgery, or a tracheotomy. Its serious stuff! It was a hard lesson for James and I and taught us to always smoke our own, or at least know what we are smoking. We are both taking some time off of BHO and are slightly disappointed that our usual health-conscious decisions were so unknowingly reckless. It sounds like a different girl also had a scary experience at the HighTimes cup. I hope she is alright as well!
James and I are dab-neutral and do not want to stir up a debate on the pros and cons of BHO, ISO, RSO or any of the other extracts. We do, however, hope that medical instances like my own serve to improve the safety of the community and do not hinder the progress of legalization.
Well, I recently started doing dabs, and just as quickly as I started,I stopped. I have made my own, and smoked other peoples, and have had some very good, clean BHO. Nothing gets you higher IMO.
However, the problems with it, legal and health problems, far outweigh the high IMO. I can get the same high from good dry kief, it just takes 2-3 rips instead of 1-2. IMO , dry kief taste better anyway and is much easier on my 46 year old lungs, so I'll just stick to that when I need a hash fix, which isn't all that often anyway as I'm a flower smoker for the most part.

I'm glad you are okay Jessi. Thanks for sharing your account of the incident!

What if the jars are left as is and the lids could have the strain names on them? You could have a blank or TGA inscribed lid then get custom lids when you order new bean strains.

Hey man, I have sleep apnea as well (where you stop breathing in your sleep) they wanted me to pay almost 2 grand to stay the night at a sleep center to monitor me in my sleep. The goal was to see if I needed a breathing machine, sounds like darth vader and looks like your in a coma with it on. Anyway I said forget that! Went on eBay and got one for under $200.. Now I sleep like a baby when I have it! Not to mention feeling so well rested! Today for example I slept 5 hours and feels like a full nights rest.

Check into it bro, it really is a life saver if you can get the miss to put up with it!

Hey Sub in your opinion which of your strains do you beleive is the most under rated, and on the other end just for the sake of it the most over rated? Also have your top 5 favorites strains changed at all now with the release of new ones?

Thanks Smokey

I have only smoked bho 15-20 times! The first time being only about 3 months ago. Ever since, any time I smoke out of a bong the back of my throat burns and starts to swell up! I dont know if its related to the bho or not, but I never had this problem before I smoked that shit! Lately the only thing I can use with out agravating my throat is my vape!

I just linked these to Matt Rize, but figured the nerds should see these

    1. [*=center]Heres one link, its more based on unvented heating elements, but the corrolation is the same, and a lot of the info is applicable.

      http://www.epinions.com/content_5004370052?sb=1
Exert from above link: So in addition to the above mentioned normally anticipated by-products of combustion, we must add potential products of incomplete combustion, such as carbon monoxide, benzo(a)pyrene (a highly carcinogenic hydrocarbon), sulfur dioxide and something that varies from state to state and country to country, "other pollutants". Toluene is present in some natural gas and is known to cause reproductive harm.
Proposition 65 Warning: Fuels used in gas, woodburning or oil fired appliances and the products of combustion of such fuels, contain chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects and other reproductive harm. California Health and Safety Code Sec. 25249.6
    [*=center]

      1. [*=center]Heres a corrolation to infant/fetal development and gas cooking.
        http://blogs.washplus.org/iaqupdates...t-development/
        Exert from above link:
Cooking with a gas stove at home during pregnancy may produce unexpected side effects on the baby’s neurological development, suggests a Spanish study Gas stoves normally use natural gas, propane or butane as fuel. Burning can produce a mixture of organic chemicals, including NO2, sulfur dioxide, carbon monoxide and others. NO2 is the most studied indoor air pollutant and is found at up to two times higher levels in homes with gas appliances.

I will keep looking for more studies that are directly related to line cooks and cancer/leukemia. the ones that i saw were very direct in their findings.

Well today is certainly better! Wake n bake to a new Weed Nerd, then got my mail. I had a TGA poster in one package. A TGA jar, womens bamboo and mans bamboo t shirt in another package. And a pack a Plush Berry and Cheese Quake in another package. I wanted to kiss my mail lady! lol.
The bamboo shirt passed the ol ladies quality test. I have the green light for more shit. And, she said she would wear a Femanized seeds are for pussies! T-shirt if it said TGA on it and wasn't on a cheap ass shirt! lol
Back to the jars, there are tons and tons of generic jars that you can write shit on. Myself, I would want a bad-ass jar just for each strain. So cool that I would have to keep it full, and when that jar is low - I FILL IT, not change the jar!! Subcool is creating a brand, and each strain is it's own brand. JTR has fans, so does Jilly Bean, etc. Jack the Ripper is very popular. I would buy tshirts, posters, jars, all kinds of shit. When a new strain is released, I would love to be ready to buy a collectors package for each strain. I cannot for the life of me seeing sub go through the trouble to make a plain-ass generic jar that you can write other strains on. That is being done.
Thanks for the gear! Top-shelf quality, just like your seeds!!
One more thing, I am so glad you can't play the guitar!!! We wouldn't have shit, cuz your ass would be jamming out all fucking day and we need you bro!! lol
edit: btw, seeds were from different company, just coincidentally showed up at same time, like my mail lady burns and knew what they were and brought them together. lol.
