ok.. ive got 2 questions ive been tryin to get answered for some time:

1- a few years back when you first posted the Glycerine TINCTURE recipe online at that other site we were on.. then an almost identicle article in,skunk, i believe, ..
i put an OZ of Querkle BUDS grinded in with a 12/16oz(not exactly sure on which) mason jar-let it sit and shoook it up twice a day for 6 months...then tried it..no real noticeable effect..so i left it go Another 6 months..then tried again.. nothing.. just some real weak tinc..did i not use enough??the jar was like 1/2 filled with plant matter and it was buds not trim...
why did this happen?? ive never had any problems making tinc from grain alcohol but would like to figure this out as i have a 1/2 brother with autism and would like to try making some tinc for him..but i dont want to give him alcohol as i dont like consuming it myself non the less giving it to a a 2-year old..

any advice would be helpful..

2- where can i send samples in to be analyzed for thc, cbd, cbn, etc. .. terpine profiles.. what is a safe and accurate method of this as id like to know how my strains are fairing..

thanks for any advice .

..peace..

Same thing happened to me, and I did switch back to FFOF.
Since we are talking about the TGA soil, does anyone know if/when it will be available online to have shipped to other states (like Michigan). Can someone in Oregon grab it, tack a few bucks on for the trouble and ebay it? I looked a few days ago, didn't find shit.
Is it possible to purchase pallet in Oregon from store or company then have it shipped to individual for personal use (As in, not a grow store reselling the shit). Would feds bust us for shit smuggling?

K so I know some won't agree with this but I too have had the same prob with leaving the flowers to soak in the tinc. What I found to work very well is heating up the glycerin at very low temps I basically put the glycerine in the jar, jar into pan and pour water around the jar. They make a little device that stirs for u so bought one of those so it doesn't just sit. Now I will say this method is a little risky due to the fact that if you let the mix reach to high temps it ruins it. But if you can dedicate the time to make sure temps don't get to high the results are amazing! Like I said, this is not some exact method but I have found it to be very effective. I guess I cook it similar to butter. As far as amount goes do you! Obviously the more the stronger I don't want to have to drink the stuff like water so I probably use an obscene amount. Oh yea, when I make it for myself I use keif at about 1oz to 3-4 oz of glycerine some say it's a waste but being able to use drops versus gulps works in my book. Also sub mentioned in previous threads that the glycerine can dehydrate you, great info as it will dehydrate bad! As far as cook time as long as it doesnt get burned from too hot temps the longer I found to be the better I usually cook real low for about a day or so.
Now the effects of tincture strain depending, are very unique. Unlike smoking it's a very relaxed deep buzz. Also does wonders for pain. Like I said though strain depending. Made some out of super silver one time, it was like liquid speed then with a relax towards the end. Hope this helps as this isn't a proven method. It is however, a method I found to be very effective for me and my patients. I have seen it work for me and a lot of others with ailments far more serious than mine. This post is just a suggestion and with suggestions we can take it or leave it! Hope this helps someone out there

Good luck -- to be fair, roots is not for seedlings :) I know it's available in Oregon so I'm sure you can get some... be glad I live in f'in no man's land

Here's the crock pot recipe I use for Glycerine Tincture, I leave mine in the crock pot for 5 days.

Glycerine-based Tincture
by Leanne Barron

You need to use food grade U.S.P glycerine, this can be relatively hard to find inexpensively but a gallon lasts a LONG time.Glycerines have a shorter shelf life than alcohol based tinctures and while they can sit on the shelf I refrigerate mine. Vegetable glycerine has nearly no impact on blood sugar or insulin and is very low in calories (4.3 per gram). It’s sweet taste makes the tincture more palatable than the alcohol based tincture and is a suitable substitute for those concerned with alcohol consumption.Add the amount of cannabis that you desire for potency. I added 6 oz of roughly trimmed (finger trimmed the leaves off) cannabis to 1 gallon of glycerine. For your personal preference add more cannabis or less depending on desired potency. I blend mine, using a coffee grinder, blender or if you are lucky enough to have a Vita Mix. Make sure there is no other product matter in whatever you use. I use a clean basting brush to clean out my Vita Mix when I am done powdering my cannabis.

Place in a crockpot on low. Some crockpot’s low settings are too high so you may not be able to use yours. A “Keep Warm” setting if you have it is the best choice. Too hot, and you are killing the properties you are trying to extract, you want the mixture to be as warm as possible without boiling, I left my tincture like this for 24 hours. I have heard people leaving the tincture from anywhere from 4-6 hours to 3 days. You can try the tincture at intervals to decide when you are done. REMEMBER that glycerine tincture retains heat VERY WELL, do not burn yourself!!

If you do not have a crockpot you can place the herbs in a clear, sealed jar in a warm, sunny spot and accomplish the same thing over 4 weeks. Some people make their “sunshine tinctures” over 2 weeks. I do not feel that is long enough, especially in colder weather. Some leave them in the sun for up to 12 weeks. I have never seen a need to go that long myself. Shake each day to mix the herbs in.

When ready to strain use cheesecloth and a strainer to extract the cannabis debris, the THC has been extracted and the tincture is ready to use. The best way to store is in a glass amber bottle. A good place to obtain a large bottle for the bulk of your tincture is a brewery store that has supplies to make wine or beer. I also obtained a few small amber bottles with eye droppers for convenience. It takes a lot longer to strain glycerine than it does alcohol, the tincture will drip when strained instead of flow.

1.)hey did you decarboxylate the tincture by placing it in an oven on warm(170º) for 20 or so minutes? thats the last step in the high times article. if you didn't you also didn't successfully convert most of the THC-A(acid form, non-Psychoactive) to THC(the potent stuff).
2.) depends where you are. if not in a medical state your out of luck. but even if you are it might be hard to find a lab to test your meds. if your in oregon, washington or california, it should be pretty easy to finda a lab. http://www.greenleaflab.org for oregon NorCal, and washington or tryhttp://www.sclabs.com for all of california. http://steephilllab.com is legendary as well. good luck

Is texas leo tough on canna growing, or do they not bother?
Fuck yeah they will throw the book at you here which is why I am moving ASAP. We can't even get them to give up on harassing smokers -- even where I am in the most liberal city, the cops have an option to let you off with a ticket but it's up to the cop there's nothing that says it's the lowest priority and lots of people get busted here still for simple possession. Judging by the photos I've seen when checking out the police mugshot website, it's used as a weapon against the minorities because oddly enough almost everyone I saw in the mugshots for weed charges are black or hispanic. Tons of white people arrested for alcohol and other stuff, but not weed -- and let me tell you there are PLENTY of white weed smokers in this town. Even this liberal city is not very liberal.

You don't hear too much about smalltime growers like me getting busted -- you pretty much gotta do something stupid to get caught for that (I knew of a guy who ran from his house naked to where he worked because the cops came to his house on warrants and he knew they were going to find his grow). Mainly you hear about the bigtime grows getting busted. My plan as always, it to never get caught, and I never have, but I'd much rather live in a state where I don't have to fear it from anyone but the feds (specially since I don't rank on the feds radar for what I do).
