When immature plants are put into flower they will not flower until they first become mature. In the case of growing 12/12 from seed, the plants will continue to veg until they are mature enough to flower. Clones are usually taken from mature plants and are the same age as the mother plants. As long as they are rooted they should begin to flower straight away.
I hear it both ways. Actually reading Integra's post he does say they get 4x as big after going 12/12 when they are "barely rooted clones".

my ww winter plant outside.
sneek peek for summer.
all fox farms soil, fert.
Tell me more about that winter grow man! Nice job.

Integra Im starting to wonder now, growing different strains in one scrog screen. When an early one is harvested leaving a hole in the screen that kinda defeats the purpose. Now Im thinking maybe FIMing is more efficient, I can get another one in a pot in place of the one harvested. Even if it doesnt produce quite as much, it could make up for it in time cus somethings always under the light. I'll probably end up trying individual screens on each pot.

Heh.... you are confusing me or you?

It all depends on the light cycle.

My six inch plants were only a few weeks old when they sexed. Hardly mature.

Mine was outdoors. Indoors, it can be done at will.

So the time of a plant being immature is quite immaterial.

Maturity does not mean a particular height. It is when the plant can be forced to flower by changing the light cycle. This is different for all strains and genetics. I know that my plant is mature when it starts to alternate nodes. At that point (regardless of height) I can force it to flower by changing the light cycle. If a seedling is placed into 12/12 it will not to start to flower until it has matured which will add time to the flowering cycle. Growing from clones allows for the plant to be mature (as long as the mother plant was mature) and can be put into flower as soon as it has rooted. All this business of sexing plants before they are flowered is of no interest to me as I grow from clones and determined the sex of the mothers by flowering clones. That system works well for me and is positively idiot proof. Idiot proof is good.

That plant was grown from Clone. She spent 3 months under a 4 foot 8 bulb T5 light with all blue bulbs.
Then she went outside to flower !
I have found with "most" strains, clones Really start taking off after 8 weeks of Veg in my setup. Flowering any sooner is a waste of time for me as I prefer, fewer, and bigger plants.
