They will destroy your plants if you just leave them. Get some neem oil or if you absolutely have to, try some hydrogen peroxide. Definitely do something about them though.

Dude I wont even pretend I know shit about growing, but I had all the symptoms of mites, without ever looking through a magnifier. I noticed a couple small web hair and something was eating away at the leaves. I assumed it was mites. I had a thermacell mosquito repellent candle. I figured it was only a bagseed a few weeks old and if it killed it, no big deal. I turned the butane on and lit it, stuck it in the closet and closed the door for about three hours. I did it twice more every other day for three hours. Two weeks later she's doing great and has gone to 12/12 for flower and not a new nibble or web to be found. I don't know if a thermacell is the smartest thing to use, but for now, it seems to have worked. Just some food for thought unless someone else has tried it and had a bad experience. I'd be interested to know if it does in fact work well for others.

ive soaked that bitch with peroxide, hopefully it will work...

Please tell me that you did not use full strength hydrogen peroxide! You should use a 3% solution, full strength right out the bottle will will your plants.

Neem oil is from your local hydroponics shop and possibly your local hydroponics shop. Both will work, you should spray every third day three to four times. Neem oil works really well, I use it all the time even just for a preventative measure. Hydrogen Peroxide is good because the left over just waters your plant as it releases the extra oxygen atom. Neem oil works as a foliar feed. After that if you have to you can go to a pesticide (pyrithium not sure if I spelt that right) but if you are going to harvest soon try not to use it. The neem oil is really good because it stops the mites from reaching sexual maturity, basically they can never have sex. You want to spray every three to four days that's their life cycle. They spray three to four times. After that they should be gone as they wouldn't have been able to make more eggs, problem solved. They peroxide you might want to spray every other day. That works by allowing the extra oxygen atom (H2O2) to brek off as it is unstable and attach to the bugs and it burns them. It makes the H2O2 become H2O regular water. That bubbling you see when you pour it on a cut is the reaction of your blood, bacteria etc causing the H2O2 become H2o.

HOLD ON! I hate neem oil. It makes the leaves so sticky and ugly. Try this:

I found the recipe on RUI so I can't take credit for it but didn't hear any details. You take 1 teaspoon of dish soap and 1 cup of vegetable oil and mix them. (I used olive oil) Then take a spray bottle and mix 2 teaspoons of the mixture to 1 cup water. My spray bottle holds 3 cups so I fill the bottle and add 6 teaspoons of the mixture. I spray the top of the dirt (sand in my case) right after I water them. It worked so good, I started spraying the leaves for good measure. It makes them so shiny and pretty. I think the bugs just slip off them so they can't get to them.

try this too from a friend:

Equal parts oil, soap, and baking soda is known as the "Cornell Formula", developed by the Ag dept of, you guessed it, as an organic fungicide.

I use 1 Tablespoon of each to 1 gal water for powdery mildew. I use Organic Hemp seed oil and Dr. Bronners Hemp peppermint soap for flowers at anytime needed as you could eat this shit.

I use Horticultural oil (no soap as it has an emulsifier) for veg plants.

I also have Horticultural Soap for pest control should the spinosad fail...I will use it on the tomatoes that are going in (late) this week.

The bugs you are talking about are probably fungus gnats. Get some Dr. Bronners (health food store) they hate the peppermint oil (no animal fat either)

Yeah the baking soda works really well. I know what you mean about the neem oil. I find on weed it doesn't look to bad, but on some of my other plants it shows up. Personally for me I like to use something that realy works well and I'm not to worried about how the plants leaves look, just about the health of the plant.

I've only used the oil, soap and water one so don't quote me on the second one. I actually did it under a scope and it works very effectively.

I used straight hydrogen peroxide,it fucked them up......

Just let them keep vegging, they might recover. Next time just use a 3% solution and you'll be okay. I've done it before too (first time years ago) and I learned from it. My plants actually recovered from it, but they were mature. If they are mature you might be okay, if they are young they are probably not going to make it. Like I said, give them some time to recover and see what happens, if no good, wash out everything in a 10% bleach solution to disinfect and start over.
