think about it

People, For the last couple of days I have been viewing threads and answering when I can. I am not trying to be mean or anything of that nature. But some of us need to go buy book.
Its funny the last two post I have looked at showed perfectly good plants that need nothing but to be left alone so they can grow. one did not even have true leaves
They are weeds they only have value because we smoke them and people buy them. but they truly are weeds. they are like the dandelion that grows in the grass. they have tenacity to survive. they fight for survival. don't give them to much of anything and they grow. stress them a little and they will grow and produce more tri's. stress them a lot and they will grow, produce a couple of seeds and maybe hermi but they willll grow.
Let them grow!!!
The best weed i have ever grown is when i found something else to do while it was growing. I watered then gave it something to eat and went to play soft ball. the next day i hung with my adult kids the next day i gave it water and went to the movies. the next day went to friends house for a sleep over.....smile.
sometime later put it in flower and did the same thing. she got a little dry (stress), so what. I watered and she popped right back. i did some reading applied the knowledge and she produced some amazing flowers and tri's
growing takes patience, knowledge and skill comes with time. the patience helps develop the knowledge and skill. find something else to do so she can amaze you with her growth in veg and her production in flower.
Get the basics (knowledge) learn what different things do for your plants while you are waiting for her to grow.
Get a book on deficiencies. So you can see it and know what to do or not to do. and what different thing does and don't do.
Example, if someone say you a toxicity problem that is why your leaves are dark green. what would you say or do. i would look up the strain and its phenos. then determine if the leaves are suppose to be dark green
In the beginning i killed more plants than i grew but now i grow more plants than i have ever killed

We spend a lot of money on gear, seeds, nutrients and electricity so what is another fifty to hundred dollars on books (patience). Just trying to help, think about it
i am looking for different techniques and ideas

I agree completely. We have over complicated and perverted what is a natural process. Plants communicate with us. They do so with their leaves. Get a good book with better pictures on deficiencies and common problems. They are amazing compared to my first bible. "Ed Rosenthall's guide to bigger better buds" in the 80's. Learn the basics and learn to see changes in the plant. They tell you if you have an issue long before you have a problem. Fruitful endeavors and peace all.

A class in basic horticulture or a summer on a farm will do way more than any of the"cannabis"books I have read.
Other than the equipment which is another class or job for real world knowledge, electrical, plumbing some basic carpentry and viola.........avoiding cannabis forums until you know what a healthy plant looks helps a lot also.
My .02..............have some fun and relax.

Sometimes people just want some reassurance from others with more experience. Some ppl grow because theyre fucked up in the head and have crazy anxiety over everything and just want to hear from someone else that everythings ok. When you want to succeed you ask questions. If you dont have guidance to offer them, move the hell along.
Didnt bother reading passed the first paragraph.

Wouldn't hurt to have a little bit more truth about ripening times. Seed Cos always lying about 8 week weed closer to ten for most I play with

They are selling seeds!
Don't go by their ripening times, look at the plant, look at the trichs on the calyx not the leaves. Some strive for a percentage of cloudy to clear, some wait a bit longer and and get cloudy/clear/amber. The longer you leave them the more the couchlock, unless you let them go to far and they begin to degrade.
Look at the Trich's!

I found $0.02 as well ...

Being an online cannabis growing community open to anyone means that different skill levels and learning methods are at play here. I don't disagree that a thread about a rookie's first crop might not be everyone's cup of tea ( ... or bowl of purple kush. We are a cannabis community, after all ...) so if "My First Grow" or "5 Days from Seed" bothers anyone, don't participate in the thread.
