Thinking of Quitting the Game...Thoughts?

I started growing because my wife at the time needed it to help with pain. Since then we've split up and now every two months I divide it up amongst a few friends. I don't smoke more than once every couple of months so I'm not really using it for myself.

I have a great job so I don't need the money. I have a son and I don't really want him to face it if something bad happens to me. Hell I don't want to face it if something bad happens and I get busted.

Problem is I love growing, love seeing the results of my hard work. Love fine tuning and enjoy all that it is. Maybe I'll just convert to growing veggies.

I only have a closet grow so its not a huge amount, but I'm just wondering if what I'm doing is worth it any more.

I'm kinda thinking I'll stop, but if I do here is the question:

I'm looking at my 2 plants I just put into flower and wondering if I should just cut them down now, say screw it to finishing them and move on or if I should let them finish, put away some in long term storage and then stop.

Thoughts?

it sounds like a waste of time for you to grow, considering that you don't smoke, and don't need the money.. if i were you, i would probably just finish the grow you have going now, store the bud for a rainy day, and maybe even try some veggies... that is if you eat veggies, if not, call it a wrap, and pick up a new hobby, maybe crochet or knitting will be a good choice..

Hey 2closetgrowers, i recently had a similar dilema to yours. I ended up switching to some exotic plants, just finished up a grow of some saffron. Anways sorry i got a little side tracked; my point was growing stuff in general is a fun hobby, the feeling of growing your own whether its some nice indica or delicious pineapple is rewarding as I'm sure you know this already. Having legitimate plants is also an awesome cover for you "other" plants. Plus you already have the equipment, why let it go to waste

Continue growing in a safe manner, sell it all and then after covering your expenses, donate the rest of the cash to good causes :) Maybe you've a neighbour with a broken lawn mower who could really appreciate having it fixed etc. Personally i love the idea of "selling for charity" :D

I agree with the post above, grow something exotic, and every once in awhile throw a bean in the corner pot if you feel-so-inclined. Maybe venus fly-traps? Hell, if you're good enough some of those rare plants go for a decent bit of coin.--So sad to hear we might be losing a potential member of the club. 8-(

Finish what you have. Then try growing some exotic stuff for a couple of months. If you are a light smoker, it's definately not worth dealing with a dealer. Reevaluate later.

if he gets busted cops wont give a shit if he was "selling for charity" they'll still write it off as trafficking marijuana, possesion, etc. then they'll find your grow op and charge you with manufacturing. They wouldnt give a shit if you were selling to fight cancer or feed 3rd world children, theyre a bunch of fuckheads.

He clearly stated he hardly uses, and DOESNT need the money. His use of marijuana will probably only cost him $20 a month. If you look at this logically, why would you take the risk of a longass jail sentence when you dont really use, and dont need the money?? For a new hobby I think you'd enjoy growing veggies/ any other plant. or try a Reef aquarium. they are alot of fun. Alot of growers I know started off with Reef Aquariums

Honestly, great feedback. Really good stuff here.

First, the exotic plants idea....Fucking awesome, hadn't even thought of that.

Second, I agree, for my minimal smoking, its just not worth it any more. However, I will finish what I have growing, put it into long term storage and then I'll have enough for a couple of years. I have pot that old in jars in the dark so I know I can keep it that long. When I eventually run out I'll just buy a seed or two online and grow a round or two again.

Third, the reef aquarium idea. I don't know how the hell you came up with that shit, but I love it. I actually thought about getting into that years ago, but never really pushed it. I'm thinking after the exotics, this might be the next thing I do.

Once again, great fucking feedback all. This type of feedback is why I love being part of this community. From now on I'll just be here in spirit only.

I'd imagine if he was growing smart to begin with he'd probably have about jack-all chance of getting caught. (Small quantities, small wattage, tell no one, don't sell, control odor, blah blah blah.) Obviously, you can never control acts of god that might get you caught, if he had been growing smart I'd say finish it out and never again. Who the fuck WANTS to buy from someone else?--To me personally, that's about as personally distasteful as having to grow my own. (I happen to also be one of those people who will never smoke enough of what I grow to use it all, but no way in hell am I going to buy it from someone else.)

Either way it's his decision on what is acceptible risk, both points of view should be equally appreciated here.

I agree with you Lisa, don't want to buy from someone else. The shit they pass off as marijuana around here is basically ditch weed. I'll keep my stash and dip into it occasionally and then grow a couple years down the road when i need more.

move to a friendly state, and use the knowledge you've gained growing medicine, to grow a giant hemp field. teach others. start a hemp revolution. you still need food, clothing, paper, fuel and other useful resources right? so does the rest of the world. make it happen!

I don't know, doing good for your fellow humans? Robin Hood and that lot although this ent really stealing ha. If someone is quite content to pay out $300 and upwards for an ounce, well it would stand to reason that there are people a lot poorer who could make very good use out of that $300+ Ignore me i'm just an idealist :D It would be perfectly possible to do on a realistic scale, not talking pounds and pounds, unless so inclined to up the potential risk.

Honestly this is something I'd do in a heartbeat. However, my son needs me and I need him so I'll be here till he's out of the roost. Then maybe I'll have him move somewhere with me and grow hemp. Would love to be on the forefront of that revolution!
