Thinking to start hydro

According to their lit----that system is design for soil based medium.

IMO, anything more than 4-5 buckets-----time for another system.

My choice would be tubes or large tubs,

@Alaric
I've seen on much other places they wrote it is good to use with coco too.
One of them: http://www.thehydrosource.com/autopot-48-pot-system.html
I know because a friend of mine has a 8 bucket autopot and uses coco.

What do you mean by "anything more than 4-5 buckets-----time for another system."
Why a new system?

Don't have enough money for tubs or tubes and they wouldn't fit my space, have 130cm height... from top to bottom without lights or pots.

Thanks

130cm, 4.2ft-----yikes---have you ever grown in that space?

Instead of that 48 pot configuration (6 rows of 8 pots) you could run six 6" x 10' tubes about 3" off the floor-----and get rid of the medium.

The chore I hate most is getting rid of the trash plant material (about 90 % total plant weight) now add disposal of medium to get rid of and replenish-----not no but hell no.

$2100 store bought compared to around $800.

@Alaric

I have grown in that space, 20L pots and 4x600w lights... 45 days of vegetation 18/6, topping and lst did the job. Had 12 huge sativas inside. Have to admit, they almost hit the light if I haven't done lst and topping.

I'll have to google around about those tubes, never followed a diary of somebody who had tubes, neither we have tubes here... well, only DIY, but will try to find the schema how everything works.

I currently have... 40 plants in soil 20L pots and I water them by hand each one of them every 4 days. I'm in the last month of 12/12 so I have to make it till the end, but the next thing is hydro for sure.

I will google out about those tubes and see what I could make. I have 16 feet X 8 feet room for hydro and as you said 4.2 feet height.

Thank you for your help.

If you're set on store bought systems? Take a good look at this GH aeroflow. In your case----have to be modified to lower it.

IMO, the aeroflow is inferior to a tube system like I built.
