This ovule (not seed) thing needs explained by an experienced grower please

Attached is dosido I bought fountuately not every bud was like this.
It's strain and grower . I hate them fuckers Zoom in on the brown ones sometimes they are tiger striped. I've personally grown them few times. Ive had them in 1 or 2 buds sometimes and other times in every calyx.
Crystal gelato by big head seeds I grew a clone out in summer time and it was full of them . Grew it again in the winter time same tent same light and 0 pre seeds/ovules. I never saw a herm from her growing or smoking it. I have a nice 1 going in a 7g I hope ta fucj I don't get them. If so it makes excellent bho/rosin that's what should happen with buds riddled with them .
I've heard basically 2 arguements 1st being stress related and other genetics.
Imo every strain has them but they are usually white/clear and you don't notice them .

thank you i can finally wrap my head around it now! i think it is definitely stress related and believe every plant has them but they shrink up when not polinated or stressed to some degree... some how with stress they are forming the micro seeds , thanks for posting..

I just wish one of the university horticulture experts could chime in and scientifically explain it. Perhaps there is something were missing . Ie excessive carbs or light manipulation.
I've gotten bud many times where its hit and miss but it cant be completely random . Maybe one side of grow show got it because of heat or lack of ventilation. Or is it only the buds closest or farther from lights, fans, dehumidifier something like that.
Maybe I'll give it the weekend if no one comes around I'll ask differently and link this post

I've had this happen to strains on multiple occasions. Don't care what the issue is, weakass genetics have no place in my room. They get tossed.
As far as TGA goes, I had this problem with their JTR and this last round with their Nepali Queen. So word to the wise on those ones. I don't use fems, and never have since the big CC debacle of 2002, and I still get them on some strains. I chalk it up to poor breeding practices and not testing their seeds properly.

I would like to chalk it up to poor breeding practices but I’ve had the ovule crackle in strains from several different breeders lately. Dinafem, royal queen, ace seeds, sweet seeds. Every strain has had large ovules. The only one that was barely noticeable was the blue widow. Side note on the blue widow. Didn’t have high hopes for it but she’s a good plant. Both phenos very short and stout. Finished and harvested both phenos in under 9 weeks. Huge colas. Very nice berry taste and surprisingly strong indica dominant stone. Decided to order MK ultra from th seeds and chocolope from DNA genetics. Seem to be tried and true and never heard any ovule type complaints. We shall see

. All of my strains from many breeders in last two year have large ovules. Temps have been different. Have had indoor plants and outdoor plants. All look healthy and no stress usually. Big ovules in every plant no matter the conditions

I have been seeing this alot lately but it does seem to be only some pheno's that have the large ovules.I just came to look this up again because it happened with my exotic f2 strawberries and cream, some phenos ovules are not as large as others but its so disappointing.Just rather smoke rosen now lol. I noticed this back in the day 20 years ago. Never had an answer to satisfy my curiosity on why. I too have ripped up crops because of this(thinking hermi seeds) but then realized I can just make hash or edibles with my rejects. definitely thinking this is a recessive trait that gets overlooked by breeders. Strains just get pumped out with so little testing at $150 a pack being average for hyped strains. Also the bottle necking of genetics could have perpetuated this trait as well as the legal seen.

Recent harvest of Bodhi Phone Home and Soul Mate regular seeds had large ovules. I was hoping it was just a fem issue but not the case as the few Jack herer fems I grew alongside the Bodhi gear didn’t have many big ovules. Not much crackle at all this time so I’ve learned to live with it but will still try to figure it out. The bud turned out great from a few of the phenos while the rest were good. Got a beauty of a Phone Home keeper that’s lemony/piney with a butter cookie scent in the background. The high is immediate head rush and chesty feel after the first exhale. The best I’ve grown yet. Very heady but a heavy jello legs body hit comes into play eventually. I’ll keep this one around for a good while. Popped some Rolex O.G., Holy Grail Kush and Kali China a few days ago to run next to it. About the ovules. They are not heat related for me as I keep my room under 80 always..usually between 70-75. Thought it was a unknown thing in my tap water so switched to reverse osmosis. No good news from that. I’m thinkign nitrogen. Maybe too much nitrogen from the dry ferts I use mixed into the soil. I sometimes see ovules with a bracht covering them. Not a seed popping out, but the bracht isn’t there or split and opened at some point and ovule exposed. It’s weird. Trust me when I say it’s no seed like you do think. Seemed to be more exposed ovules this last round in the dark green plants. 4 weeks in flower with some phone Home girls now and using less nitrogen. No exposed ovules on these plants this time. Sidenote. Everyone has loved the smoke..might get a crackle out of every couple bowls you smoke. Doesn’t effect flavor. The Seedsman Jack herer sucks in a major way. I’ve had most of it sitting in a ziplock for a month and a half and smoked three bowls. It’s not worthy of jars

Spoke too soon as usual. The Seedsman Jack is ok smoke. Very strong smelling and sour. I’m calling it Sour Putrid. It’s pretty decent high now that I’m getting burnt out on what’s left of the Soul mate and Phone Home to smoke..the average phenos. I loved the good Phone Home phenos so much that I couldn’t stop smoking them. Lol. Quality was better than anything I’ve smoked in a while but I only smoke my own for the most part. Still though, I enjoyed it so much that I was packing probably twice as many bowls as normal for a few months. I tell you what..it helped reverse the insomnia that had been kicking in more and more over the course of a year or so.

I just ran double dipped strawberries from useful seeds. No ovules that where noticable .
I've ran into big ovules and it only seems to happen to me when I spend good money on the seeds. All my more affordable purchases have been ovule free.
Sugar high from Crockett family farms I think was the breeder. Had some huge ovules I'll have to double check the breeder name.
I'm running dds again. I'll try to report back on the ovules. But I honestly don't recall seeing any in my last run of it.

and then there’s the outdoors last year that had large ovules as well so I can say temps for all of my large ovule plants have been in the 70s. Let’s hear your theory or are you just here to run your man pleaser? High temps caused it and now mid 70s causes it is what I’m getting from your last comment..or is it just that I’m sucking on the glass dick? Show us your age.
