Do you think a 400 watt hps bulb is too big for a 32"w-24"d-64"h grow box?

I'm worried I wont be able to keep the heat down.

I looking at the the $56.00 ThruWall Transfer Fan from Home Depot. It's has an 8" diameter and 2 speeds of 160 CFM and 200 CFM. This should be

My 400 watt hps has just a plain cheapo reflector and I don't have the $$ to air cool it.

Im planning on making a (eerily) similar setup. I think thats the strongest light you'd want for a space like that. Im pretty sure the fan you have in mind is over kill for the space you have. A fan w/ a rating of say 100CFM should suit your needs, around $30 on their homedepots' online store

that is the perfect amount of lumen to feed your plants for the size of box you have .. anything more would be over lighting your grow... 400 is the very very max thats recommended for an area that size

Hi, yeah I'm new so a big hello and I am also dealing with a similar situation, 1 closet 2' deep 8'wide divided in half with 4.5' of height on one side and 5.5 on the other. I am still trying to figure out what would be the best use of the space, but so far with 9 plants bout 9 inches high give or take, with a mini sun sys 2, 400w hps & 10 site dwc with 5 inch net pots. My exhaust is 4 inch with a 250 cfm fan cut back to 75% power. My temps with the door shut stay between 73 and 79 degrees, and a steady humidity of 55% when the rest of the room is kept at 60 degrees.(Western Washington State) At 70 degrees the closet will drift to 83 so keep your room fairly cool. My expertiese is not high as a first timer myself, but at least my brain is, Hardy har and heres a pic if I can figure out how to send it, good luck all.
