Thrips and bite marks?

Hey all, Ive been dealing with thrips for the past two weeks, i dosed the leaves with a foliar spray of azamax twice in week intervals and drench applicationed the soil simultaneously, this seemed to deter them for about 5 days but now they seem to be back, i live in so cal and have a dog, hes not allowed near the room anymore but i still have a box fan in the door drawing in air, how should i eliminate these things??? also i have some bite marks going completely through the leaves on a couple plants, this seems to be getting worse, any help much appreciated.

ya there with my camera phone so not great, let me post them though, it looks as if a caterpillar or something has bitten directly throug some leaves however there is no white edging around the bite marks

spinosad and mosquito dunks... use the spinosad as foliar to kill the adults and soak ur water with mosquito dunks for a day. works wonders for me

I have the same marks(middle 2)on some of my plants and I am pretty sure they are thrips also.Do you see any tiny black insects that look like fruit flies flying around?I posted a question on this site also and will let you know if I find a successful solution.
