Time to dry, creative odor control?

My babies are flowering and looking to harvest plants soontimes to cure and dry out :p I need to be able to control smell quite heavily and I am in an apartment building so understandably I want to keep it as quiet as possible.

They're currently on my balcony and once harvested I'm going to bring inside. I think my best route here is to:
- Customize a plastic ~30" storage container, $15-$20
- Add a couple charcoal briquets to the bottom as well as a small fan, $10-$20
- Cut a small hole in the middle/side of the container,
- Add a small duct tube to the side attaching outside, $5-$10
- Some ONA gel, $15

Any recommendations or options I'm not thinking of, this will cost me about $65 which is still more than I ideally want to spend on it haha.

Don't go cheap. I know you said you are on a budget, but i'd be careful living in a apartment. Without a carbon filter, an entire plant drying is going to be a very hard thing to cover up. You can get a 4'' in line fan with a carbon filter for like $80 on amazon.

A carbon filter would really make that much of a difference eh? just any carbon filter would do?

let me phrase it this way....

If odour control is going to keep you from being evicted or charged by the police, then this is the most important aspect of your setup to invest in. More important than the lights, the nutes, the seeds or anything else.

Because if your odour control isn't on point and your grow isn't authorized then you'll lose all those things anyway, and much much more

Very very true Barry,

I am going to get the carbon filter from a local store here. theyre about 80$ online so thats a fair investment

Most likely dry about 30-40gs so I knew it would be bad but didnt know that bad, I could also place this box on my balcony although it wouldnt be temperature controlled out there and its been super humid this summer.

Don’t forget to get a in-line fan too or that filter will be useless. Chances are if they are on your balcony the neighbors probably already know anyway, what area are you in that your outdoor plants are ready for chop?

if your going to dry in a plastic box without good airflow expect mold.

Order a small grow tent kit online. You may never use the chit light but the chepo tent, carbon filter and exhaust fan will make an adequate drying tent. Just use a passive intake.

I also have a small clip on fan circulating the air in there.
