Time to start in S.E. Ohio

This will be my first time grow, just wondering what the best time to start outdoors for S.E. Ohio. I'm thinking about going with TropiCanna from seeds... Not 100% decided on a strain though but TropiCanna seems promising.

Any advice is welcome

Look up your last average frost date for your area, any time after that should be ok for cold weather, but you may still have spring storms and high winds to consider. Are you starting seeds inside and them transplanting them (advisible) or just sowing seeds into the ground? Try and read as much as you can now, I always enjoy planning a new garden, no matter what you're growing in it! LOL

You can start whenever you want depending on how big of plants you want, but I wouldn't put them outside until at least the 2nd week of May. You'll want to give them a good 3-4 week veg time indoors before taking them out so they have a little mass to them if you can. Young seedlings are very vulnerable to the elements and pests.

That's between you and her but you really don't need all that much. I started with two 24" 6500K T8 lights last year and ended up with four 6' tall plants in the fall. I tried CFL but like fluoros better for that purpose because they don't create as much heat. A small fan was enough to keep them cool.

The best advice I can give, if you tell one person bout your grow that is one person to manny.

That's a rough one! My ex would have killed me if I did what I'm doing now. Like delstele said, one person that knows is one person too many. You need to consider what happens if you break up, is she vengeful? (Sorry, stupid question, she' a woman, of course she is vengeful!) You need to work that out between yourselves, but I've found that in life it's much easier to ask for forgiveness, than to ask for permission. Also is it your place? Does it really matter what she thinks?

I'm not trying to be a dick, but I resent the way some women try to control the men in their lives, sorry it's my beef, from my personal experiences.

Yeah the girl is cool with it, pretty stoked actually. Her only issue is that our appartment complex likes to do random inspections for bugs and shit so thats why she'd be paranoid about starting them inside. But yeah, it's definatly only a need to know basis. Shes splitting the seed cost with me and she doesn't even know the planned location of the grow.

But no offense taken MASS97, most women are pretty evil creatures.

Well just start em off and have them ready to plant in may-ish time and let them grow watch em, water them. pull em around last days of sept but wait until oct 7-16. frost might come but just cover them up and 1 frost wont hurt them much. p.s ive grew about 4 years there and my dad did for like 15yrs.

im in the same territory and i usally put my babies out may 1st after they have had a month of veg (2 weeks indoors, 2 weeks outdoors)

I put my order in at Attitued on the 18th and as soon as they come in I'm going to get them started. I'll probably start a journal too. Should be fun.

Yea man if you dont know of TGA Subcool then do some reading cause he is a god in my books, between his genetics and super soil recipe its a perfect combination for superb dankness! I will have some clones in a month or two. If you need any around there hit me up man, anytime!

If you have a love and dedication to this plant like i do then you will do just fine man! I look forward to following your progress

Oh btw, I decided to go with a different strain... Instead of tropicanna I went with purple widow.
