Timelines for the Northeast ?

I'm not an outdoor grower. I'm strictly a little basement dirt pot farmer but my best bud is running a couple of large trees outdoors. My question ( on his behalf ) is how much usable time does he have when his Sativa looking plants are barely showing female hairs and it's already August the 9th. I figure at best he's going to need at least 8-9 weeks minimum taking him well into October.
He put his started plants out in early June.
Anyway, you outdoor experts, do you think he can still have a good run out of these plants ?

How far North? It's possible if you have a mild season I think. But I've also heard of some going as far as November-December. Weather is crazy now days. Is it 100% sativa?

Well im a northeast hills kinda guy.....up here they say about corn.....knee high by july, lol because by octish up here you can bet its time to grab any late bloomers before frost gets nasty. He can squeeze in 8 weeks prob. We have had pretty mild fall- winter transitions lately

Well, he lost track of the actual strain ( he always does) but to me they are awful long and skinny leaves. In my experience, they seem to be mostly Sativa if not even 100 % Sativa.
They are just barely showing their sex at this point right now.

Got ya. Its hard to say really. Hopefully it will work out in his favor. If there's some indica in it, the chances are better that they wont have to be chopped early. Does he prefer sativas? If so next year he could use light dep techniques to trigger flower sooner. Best of luck, may the grow gods bless you/him.
