timer box TORK DTU40

Hey there, building a grow room out and i have the grow light circuit wired and rdy. I do need to splice in a timer so i have found these. my work uses the model above but we have 277v at work with way more lights. I have four HLG 600watt 2.5amp on a 240v line with 12-2 cable to a 2 pole(?) 30 amp breaker. my electrician is on vacation but im wondering if these digital timers will work so i can order them when hes back.
these are the timers im looking at

So you have over breakered the gauge of the wire...for 30 amps you need 10-2 or 10-3....not 12-2 or 12-3.
and it says the dtu40 is a multi tap, so it will work in any voltage as long as it is wired correctly.
Edit ..after reading product description, it says the product determines the voltage automatically, so it's wired accordingly.

yea its a oversized breaker cause i had the space and the store was out of 20amp. electrician said for 240v we need two pole so i got 30 amp. idk if thats safe but it will only be running 10 amps max thru that 12-2.

This is not advisable- using a breaker that is rated for more than the wire gauge CAN cause the wire to overheat before the breaker trips - this is a fire hazard. You can go the other way but never under size the conductor. I know that you are only planning on the 10 amps but please order the correct breaker or run the correct wire. You will sleep better-

Smoke a joint and chill. As u can see I replied asking if it was safe because I don't know if overbreakered is safe or not.
All I got from your comment is that the digital timer would work for my case.
I plan to get a 20 amp breaker now that y'all have mentioned it being unsafe.

Thanks for the reply and explaining it out. Makes sense. Gonna get proper 20amp for the 240v circuits
