I have two timers. One digital and one analog with the pins representing 15 mins each. I tried both of them for my 600W lighting system but this red light turned on and the ballast started making this buzzing sound. What does that mean and why won't it work.
I was thinking of doing it manually at 6:30 am to 6:30 pm but i only get home at around 7. I was thinking that i should hook up my 2700k CFL which is 125 Watt. Would the change in these varying lights have an effect on the plants becoz the CFL works on the timer and i can turn that on and when i come home i can fire up the HPS. Also, would the CFL be enough to disrupt the dark period because i have 7 plants??
I also want to know the maximum amount of dark period you can have and not affect the yeild or cause stress or lengthen the flowering period.
Lastly, has nyone got ny xperience with flowering plants at 12"?? Thanx

I'd do the the CFL thing you want to keep your schedules as stable as possible. I always flower around 12 inches as I only use 150 watt HPS for flowering so I don't want tall plants. I top when they are around 6-7 nodes and as soon as they are regrowing new tops I start 12/12
