Tiny orange/grey ants in grow closet

So I have these really really tiny orange/greyish ants running around my grow closet on the floor and around the pots, spotted a few in the soil but none on the plants themselves.

Theres not like hundreds or anything but can spot like 10-20 usually crawling around. They cant be red ants because they would have bit me by now?

What can they be and are they gonna cause me or my plants any damage? Should I worry about it?

I have some neem oil should i clean the grow area/floor/pots with that? Also should i start doing soil drench with the neem oil mixed with water just to be sure?

The ants are really fast aswell, move so quickly.

They won't cause any issues, it is the reaosn that they are there that is an issue. They are looking for the sweet honeydew excreted from most forms of aphids. The ants really like the shit and will pick up the aphids and actually do a farming'esk setup. It's actually kinda kewl, but bad for your plants. The honeydew will gather all kinds of mold, and the aphids will drain the plants, killing them, or at least making them very very sickly. Use the neem oil on the entire room, but be careful! That shit is scary. Use it exactly as directed and cover your mouth and nose, and don't for the love of god, get anything in your eyes, you will be very unhappy.

If you want though, you could do what I did my first infestation: remove them all by hand. It takes hours, and hours. Use neem oil where the ants frequent thought. Watch where they walk and move, and they may even find the aphids for you. Make where they move, where they go, how they do it. Find all the aphids you can. Then neem oil the areas you found the ants to be using. They do the whole thing by smell. So just hand removing the ants alone won't be enough, no matter how long, more will just follow the scent trail. So you gotta not only kill the scent trail at its source, but it will also kill the ants trying to traverse it anyway. Neem oil is a beast. This way, you save the plants a lot of issues and don't run nearly as much risk to yourself.

Many thanks for your reply. I cant see any aphids on the plants or in the closet. I have had them on my plants outside last year so know what to look for. Maybe they are on there way or something?

I took all my plants out the closet today and gave the closet a good wash down and left some ant powder on the floor where i seen them.

Is it ok to rub down all the surface area with neem oil straight from the bottle?

The stuff i used is similar, seems to be doin the trick my only concern is it has left a smell behind in the closet that bothers me so im sure the plants dont like it either. Probs slowed growth a bit.

Don't use it straight from the bottle. Like I said, read the directions. Mine says something like make a 5% solution. It is super potent, don't dump it down the drain either, use as little as you can.
