Tips of colas limp

So I'm having a bit of an issue with my 4x4 tent I have four plants in it and vegetative state I use them strictly for cutting clones but over the last month and a half I have noticed every single day the last 4 hours of the light being on all the tips of the colas on all my vegetative plants go limp just the tips not the rest of the plant. I have tried everything from raising the light further away bringing the light closer feeding less nutrients feeding more nutrients I use pro-mix as a growing medium the pro mix itself the pH medium is around 6.3 I feed my nutrients and water at a 6.1 with my PPM generally ranging between 800 and 850 I was just wondering if anybody had some advice because I have never had this problem before I'm not a professional grower but I'm not a rookie either. Also I should mention it's a brand new strain for me but I have never encountered this problem before and not been able to solve it if anybody could please help.

Usually, but not always, when getting close to lights off you’ll notice a dip in the structure. They’re getting ready to sleep. And 1-2 hrs after lights on… 2 being extreme length of time. You’ll notice a dip before and after lights off/on. If there are no other issues with your plants… that is.

Hi thanks for the reply kindbud421. If this helps understand a little more I know what you're talking about with the before and after but even during the day the tips will be perked up towards the light as soon as the light turns on they're already perked up but if I grab them with my fingers and turn them there's no stiffness to them like there is down at the center of that same branch and usually in this situation it poses a problem for cutting clones because they don't have any stiffness to keep them up so they go limp under the dome.. as well if the next question is circulation I do have a 16-in oscillating fan in a 4x4 tent which is more than enough.. I have attached a couple of pictures showing how limp it is at the top of the branch and how tough it is just about 8 in below

Possibility of DLI issue? Too much, not enough? If there is too much light, leaves will point towards light lessening the light intake… if too little I would assume the opposite. Dli and VDP go hand in hand for environment. Check your levels if you can. Light meter, and humidity levels. If no light meter, Photone app is relatively cheap for iPhone and android for your specific light spectrum. $5.99 thru apple … that covers ppfd, par, DLI. Oh, DLI = daily light integral, and VDP = Vapor pressure in grow space. Check those out… google DLI and VDP/ VPD. They have charts on there for both. Hope this helps.

The leaves are pointed up a little bit towards the light so it might be a light issue my light is only a 600 w and it's about 18 inches away from the top of the canopy which should be sufficient but every strain is different I do not have a lux meter but I do have a hygrometer and my humidity which isn't that big of a deal in vegetative stage is usually around 40% I know it could be a bit higher in veg and lower in bud but it's not too bad maybe I will try to increase humidity?? But thanks for letting me know about the light meter app I will definitely give that a try and maybe I will have to adjust my light height or dim my light down with my dimmable ballast.... Thanks for the info I appreciate it

I got a HLG 600 rspec LED… my 600 is mounted as close to the roof of my 4x4 as possible, adjusted with dimmer. Looks like you have HPS 600w? If so, I’d mount that higher… might be wrong as it’s been years since I grew with HPS.

No you're absolutely correct it is a 600 watt HPS bulb I know I should be using MH bulb I just got a really really good deal on four high quality HPS bulbs so I went for it and I have grown straight from veg all the way through flower with them no problem before but I know MH just preferred during veg having said that my HPS it was 18 in away from the top of my canopy and I noticed my dimmer switch was actually at 75% when I started these four plants. Then when I started having the problem I thought it might have been due to a deficiency in lighting so I amped it up to 100% of course that increased the temperature in my tent by almost 3°c but my plants were still drooping at 100% just like they were at 75%. So maybe I will take your advice with this strain and put my light up at least 24in above the canopy or more. I never had this problem before these four plants are a brand new strain for me called "black gorilla"so I'll definitely try it raising the light and see what happens hopefully it helps. Again thank you for your help I appreciate it a lot!!.. even growing over the years there's always little tiny tactics we seem to forget sometimes lol thank you!
