The other poster is right; a weak (1/4 strength or less) nitrogen type fertilizer will clear out far more built up fertilizers and salts than plain water. After that you can finish with reverse osmosis water and possibly a clearing soloution.

Honestly, some of you guys need to pick up a copy of Jorge Cervantes "Grow Bible". It would clear up a lot of "pot lore" I read on the web.
