Yes , they work much more IF your other conditions are right

focus on the condition of ur enviroment, make sure ur room's temp stays in the 70's, keep ur humidity around 35% to 40%, set up a inline fan in ur romm for extractin air out, make sure ur room is light tight and clean ur room before puttin any plants in there, these are sum things that are crucial to a good grow, if u have ur enviroment tooken care off u dont need any expensive nutes to pull off a good crop, depending on how u wanna grow organic or synthetic, therre are a wide range of liquid and solid nutes available, i grow organic indoors and outdoors, the only liquid nutrients i use is fox farm big bloom and wholesome sweetener's organic un-sulphured molasses, my nurtients are all in my soil mix, all i have to do is add filtered water and sum molasses and big bloom during flower and i get great harvests (i use compost teas too but thas something to learn about if u decide to grow organic) for outdoors i dont even use liquid nutes besides molasses my outdoor plants go into a compost heavy soil mix that works wonders for me

if u want a quick run down of a cheap organic grow scenerio here it goes:
mix a bag of fox farm ocean forest with a bag of happy frog potting soil
cut mix with perlite
add 1tbsp per gal of soil mix of happy frog all purpose 5-5-5
when flowering add 1tbsp of happy frog bulb food 3-8-8 as a top dressing
add molasses every two watering during flower up until wk.5 then dont add any more molasses (has to be un-sulphred molasses sulphates will hurt the microbes in ur soil mix)
add fox farm big bloom every two watering during flower til wk.5 then dont add any
*u need to use filtered or distelled water for this mix to work wonders for you, chlorine is in every city's tap water and chlorine is a bacteriacide so it will impact all bacteria including killing off the benificial bacteria in ur soil mix, the benificial microbes in soil help break organic material into food for ur plants, keep them happy and they do all the work, all u gota do is water with good water and add molasses a couple time during flower, as u start learning more about organics ul start mixing ur own soil mixes, makin ur own compost, brewing compost teas, its alota fun, the rev just released a great book on growing organics called True living Organics.....i forgot the rest but if put true living organics book by the rev online ul find, check it out cause once u start growing this style and u learn how to recycle soil ul save hella money on soil

sorry bud i dont try to spell shit right online i write the quickest i can so if you is spelled u like fuck u dont be suprised its the quickest way to write it and its the internet nobody is grading this like were in school and takin a spelling test, but whatever bud if thats how u make urself feel better is to talk shit on someone elses spelling or grammer go right ahead considering u didnt even start ur sentence with a capitol or ended it with a period i wouldnt consider u grammer to be all that good either

Worry about the environment and then the next thing to really worry about is PH of what ever you are doing because that plays the biggest part imo. U might have all the nuts but ph bad grow bad, get nice soil veg 4 weeks then in flowering u add flowering nuts and keep ph around 6.5 and u will have great bud, after a few grows start experimenting with additives adn what not
