To much stretch

Hi yall I am wondering.... I am in the process of trying to recover from over fert and watering... In isolating the problems I put my lights up 2 x 1000w ; 1 1k MH 1 1k HPS up to about 34 inches from the canopy. Then two days ago I lower it to about 28 inches to the canopy. This morning the plants seem to be recovering but they are growing very tall, 1 inch a day... Is this to much stretch. This morning I lowered my lights to about 22inches from the canopy. They are fan/air cooled to outside the grow room/building...

Is it that they are growing tall or stretching. I see "stretching" as an excess elongation of internodes for the variety in question.
If the plants can handel the light then keep it close but watch out for bleaching or burning if they are recovering from stress or anytime.
If they are growing that fast then they sound like they are getting back on track so new growth should start to green up.

Hmm so from my (awesome I know) pic what does it look like to you... Stretching or tall? Are those internodes an ideal ways apart?

I moved the lights down to 23 inches from the canopy, 21 if they grow and inch or two today... The rockwool (ground level) went from 77.6 to about 78 only...

Thanks

internodes look good. no stretch there. Plants looks small for age. when you transplant you can plant it deep.. oh yea your going into a flood tray?
