so everyone just entering my 3rd week of flower. Getting a ton of bud sites super happy about that.
I have 4 plants 2 diffrent strains in a rdwc system.
I have done my research before I get attacked for not doing my due diligence.
I get some people say yes some say no.
My queation is can I trim excess off of my plants in flower.
My girls are doing extremly well. I have no complaints.
I am dying to trim them down.
First reason is mold I have great circulation in my tent but with so many leaves I run the risk of developing powdery mold as well as the lights not going passed the canopy. and ide like to concentrate all of the plants energy on bud growth.
I have included pics so you can better visualize what my grow looks like

I don't trim them while in flower I just pull off all the dead leaves like twice a week

Yah you know I am leaning more towards thats route. They are happy I am sure at the end the results will be great. I dont mind not trimming just removing dead leaves.
So If I go that route other than good air flow and ventilation, keeping humidity low. What other preventive Maintenance can I do to assure my girls stay away from mold issues.
My concern is and maybe I am just being paranoid but with so many leaves laying on top of each other some moisture gets trapped.
Thanks everyone for your input.

Hit your room with some lysol twice a week. Really seemed to work for a bro of mine who was having issues. Get air filter. They supposedly filter out like 99 percent of spores

Trust me most of the leaves will have come off by harvest

Dude, you do not want to spay lysol on your plants. Bad, Very Bad idea. Anything you spray in your room will be in your smoke. I go to great lengths to keep my grows as organic as possible so I know my smoke is clean. Trust me it cant be good for you or your plants. You can take a few leaves everyday but not too many, you will stress your plant too much. In a week or two it should be more open to light and air penetration. And like BamaBoy said, you should take the bottom branches off before you flower. The bottom branches usually only produce a small amount of weight of mediocre(at best) bud and take up a lot of your plants energy. Take them off and the plant will direct that energy to the growing top buds.

Can't really do it in a net, but you can rotate plants periodically so that one branch isn't always in an airflow 'dead zone' and more prone to mold

I think he means the room the closet/tent is in, not the grow room itself. Not such a bad idea really

You can cut whatever you want. If the genetics suck it might hermie, I trim before I flip then clean up once more after the stretch. I don't randomly cut leaves though, I cut useless branches.

week 2 or 3 of flower is when I do my final clean up, I clean the bottom third or half of the plants. Do it all at once. If I dont do it then I regret at harvest.

Correct. I would not spray anything on leaves . (Neem occasionally if you have to) i dont even foliar feed which a lot of people seem to like. But lysol kills the shit out of fungus and if you can kill it in the air... like I said I have a friend who does it and seemed to work well for him. And definitely didn't have any chemical taste in his nugs. Just spray around your area with your fans off and be mindful.
