To use cheap or expensive nutrients

Hey guys, doing an outdoor grow and im a month behind cause i didnt get my seeds till late, putting the plants in 50L pots of quality soil mix
My quenstion i guess is how much difference is there between using $10 general garden nutrients and using specialised $80 ones.
I had q quick look at the local hydro store and was thinking Rock supercharge root tonic, their line of grow/bloom nutrients over veg/flower
Or are they a waste of money? i can justify spending extra if its gonna work better, i just dont want to wast $$ haha
any feedback will be appreciated, cheers

I am not as experienced as many here but I am using "dyna-grow". It is not expensive and has a good NPK plus macro-nutrients. They have a bloom treatment also. My plants look pretty good if I say so myself. After reading alot I have come to the conclusion that most but not all the benefits of expensive stuff can be found in "some" generic nutrient treatments. Dyna-grow seems to be one of the best bangs for your buck. There are a few bud/flowering treatments that I am still reading on, so I may add some of that expensive snake oil later in flower (;

Yeah cheers i reckon im going to buy some cheap nutrients from my local hydro shop, and then maybe grab some beneficial bacteria or something to help promote root growth, looked on their website and i can pick up 5lt of a&b nutes for $80, that should be enough for veg, then get some bloom ones once they go into flower

Save your money. An inoculation of beneficial bacteria will do little if any good absent organic matter for them to convert into nutrients. The chemical salt fertilizers will drastically reduce their population as well. Mycos and bacteria feed on and break down organic matter into a form of nutrients that can be used by plants.

I'm currently using Dyna Gro also. It's cheap, easy to use (no mixing), effective and doesn't require much for each watering. I prefer the dyna gro over fox farm 3 part because the dyna gro is clean in hydro systems. It can be used in soil or various hydro setups (DWC, Hempy buckets). I have an indoor vegetable garden as well and use it on all of my plants, some in soil, some DWC and some hempy and all of my stuff is growing well.

My last grow, which was my first, I used cheap nutes and it was a mistake. My current plant is in flower and this run it's been very healthy with much more growth using dyna gro instead of the super cheap stuff.

Why use expensive or cheap hydro nutes if your growing outside in dirt. I wouldnt tell someone to use either AN or Dynagro indoors in dirt let alone outdoors. Build a good soil, top dress, and brew teas. Thats the best & cheapest way to grow outdoors.

you're not really a month behind you still got 5.5 months before they will go into flower

read the ingredient labels. oftentimes the only difference in fertilizers, besides the price tag, is the fancy drawing on the front of the bottle. everybody has their preferences, if it were me using cheap nutes outside I'd be using chicken shit, blood meal, and bone meal. good luck! oh and don't forget that you normally don't need to use the nutes at full recommended strength - cut them in half at least and that will help your fertilizer go further.

is this a guerilla grow?,i would just mix the soil with some nice organics,bat shit or something

Yeah ive got a pretty decent soil foundation, i didnt get into putting lots of organic ammendments in, but in each 50L pot its going to have 30L good store bought potting soil, not the cheap stuff, 12.5L coco/perlite, and 10L of organic soil improver, you buy it in a bag at the garden centre, compost blood/bone meal, some other stuff i cant remember too.

Yeah its an outdoor geurilla setup

The pots are just sitting out at the grow with all the soil etc still bagged, if anyone can think of something that will make the soil even better, let me know, the only thing is, we dont usually have guano/worm castings at our local garden centres
