Tobacco?

I grew the rustica once. It was super strong and tasted like the best tobacco ever - one puff stuff. The only problem was it didn't grow that well - only getting a foot tall at the max with maybe 6inch leaves. I'm sure I could do better just need to put the effort in. It flowers constantly, you have to remove them.

I may allow one to flower so that I have a few thousand seeds but other than that I will pluck them. My seeds should be here by this week. The growth rate of tobacco seems to be SUPER SLOW

Start early indoors, when you harvest though you have to let it dry out .. We left ours for at least a year before it was smokable

That's a long time :/. I won't be using them till next October by the earliest anyways. I have been told they require sunlight to germinate which i found EXTREMELY ODD. I have maybe 50 or so in a small container, if i get them up I'll translplant them into smaller cups. How long do they usually take to germinate?

I just started some NC-102 20121108_155333.jpg 20121108_154551.jpg it's more of a cigarette tobacco
And yea you top sow them, they need the light to germinate. My grandpa said some varieties can take a month or more to sprout.

I "rake" my seeds in with my fingers. F top sowing... The water dries out right on top where the seeds are....

Well It kinda of sucks cause i am going to have 50+ seedlings in one small container...transplanting into an egg carton or something seems to be what ill do.
