Two days from now, fireworks shows will go on across the country as rank and file Americans will likely burn themselves or their trailers down from putting on home-made fireworks shows (please post videos of any fireworks mishaps, those are hilarious).

Also, beginning this past Friday and continuing through Wednesday, many Americans will celebrate independence day by being pulled over by a county mounty, a parish pariah, state trooper, or municipal dick--and their autos will be searched (a few black motorists will likely be summarily executed, because hey! this is America). That's real freedom!

What most Americans fail to realize about the Fourth of July, however, is that 1) it celebrates the Declaration of Independence and not the Constitution, and 2) the Declaration was signed on July 2, 1776, but was reported to the public two days later. https://www.archives.gov/press/press-releases/2005/nr05-83.html
